I was expecting a redhead who grew up in a penis-castle. Oh well. Apple could have chosen wingbats font if they wanted to troll the judge.

I tried to Google the best font for apologies but my employer's filter blocks the sites.

Mind you, with their policy on apologies, we don't really need to be downloading apology fonts.

Personally, if I were Apple I'd probably be gong with Comic Sans because it drives a lot of nerd and geeks nuts.

Going, going, gong.

I miss the Gong Show. It was the first and best reality show.

isn't arial just a way to avoid paying somebody for inventing helvetica?

/ wait, do people get paid for inventing typefaces/fonts/whatever the correct term is?

Yes, and it's actually a pretty hefty fee to buy a type font. Like, a fairly big chunk of change. I told my designer wife what font specifically they were told to advertise in, and she laughed.

More or less.

They can. Hermann Zapf is an example.

I really thought that was the case. I just didn't want to start shouting off half-cocked assertions on the internet of all places. was it the people making the font for microsoft word?

/ bah. to hell with helvetica and it's million spawn of careless letters. give me some serifs.

Being Apple, I'm surprised it wasn't in wingdings. Then they could patent apologies and newspapers.

More likely, I'm too often responsible for the emboldened part.

Newspapers don't really use "Arial."
Arial is a cheap knockoff of Helvetica.
Arial was primarily forged for web use by Microsoft back in the 90's when subby and the Gizmodo article writer were probably born.

Sort of appropriate, since the court case was about Samsung's cheap knockoff of the iPad.

Trebuchet is clearly the superior font for lobbing half-hearted non-apologies.

Everyone knows Apple doesn't use Arial
it's Myriad Pro. "Myriad has a warmth and readability that result from the humanistic treatment of letter proportions and design detail. "
Doesn't just sound like Apple?
Basically just Arial with a sloping M.
