That's what he believed in June, 2011. Lately the bigger question is what does he believe today, at any particular hour?

Obama's also got greenlit with the Hero tag as well. So, I guess it is just the "equal time" enforcement on Fark that we know exists ;)

Yeah, this one got greened before the other one. I didn't even see the other one in the submission queue. Misuse of the Hero tag really REALLY bugs me. I thought I was going to lose it when somebody submitted a Glenn Beck article with the Hero tag a few weeks ago.

He can promise fairies and rainbows, and a unicorn in every garage. But come on - he has offered zero details on how this could be accomplished. Every independent review of his plan, or just a third grader who's okay at math, comes to the same conclusion that it impossible to achieve what he wants without eliminating tax breaks that will severely impact the middle class. And even that doesn't get him all the way there.

He is a snake oil salesman, being a businessman I guess makes him a GOOD snake oil salesman, but it doesn't make what he's selling any less of a sham.

President Obama's the free market's war on coal

fixed

his effort to crimp natural gas by federal regulation of the very technology that produces it

So ... privatize profit and socialize costs, then? Or are we not going to bother bother cleaning up messes left by the frackers?

And we will finally hold accountable any nation that doesn't play by the rules make a lot of noise about free trade whenever elections are coming up, but we're most likely going to avoid trade wars.

Yeah, this goes without saying. And yeah, both sides do this but I sure as hell ain't voting Republican. Thanks for puffing out your chest, though. It's cute.

I will ensure that our military is strong enough that no adversary dares to challenge us.

"You know that if the President is re-elected, he will still be unable to work with the people in Congress," Romney said. "He has ignored them, attacked them, blamed them. The debt ceiling will come up again, and shutdown and default will be threatened, chilling the economy."

i.e. If you don't vote for me, the Congressmen in my partry will drive the country into the crapper out of pure spite.

It's refreshing (and startling) to see Romney say something completely honest for once.

The most important task for any president is set out in the preamble to our Constitution-providing for the common defense.

You really want to start putting weight on the preamble? When the very next words after "provide for the common defense" are "promote the general welfare"?

We will support nuclear and renewables, but phase out subsidies once an industry is on its feet. We will invest in energy science and research to make discoveries that can actually change our energy world.

But he wont end oil subsidies, and I'd say that industry is on its feet. And they are going to invest in energy sciecne and research, yet biatch and moan when Obama does the same thing. SOLYNDRA!!!!!

Our current worker retraining system is a labyrinth of federal programs that sprawls across 47 programs and nine agencies. We will eliminate this redundancy and empower the 50 states and the private sector to develop effective programs of their own

So in order to reduce the redundancy of 47 programs, we will have 50 plus however many the private sector devsises. Brilliant!

As governor of a state that was overwhelmingly Democratic, I was always ready to reach across the aisle and I can proudly point to the results.

The results where you vetoed ~800 bills, ~700 of which were subsequently overturned. Fantastic results, i very much doubt he would beam with pride if a reporter brought this up to him.

We've watched as one party has pushed through its agenda without compromising with the other party. We've watched gridlock and petty conflict dominate while the most important issues confronting the nation, like chronic high unemployment, go unaddressed.

Well the first part is a complete lie(shocking, I know), and as for the second part, your farking party is the one causing all this by record numbers of filibusters, even on bills designed to fight the issues you speak of in the sentence.

What an utter twat, it seriously blows my mind that half of the country is going to vote for this piece of garbage.

Usually people rush out to buy guns and assault rifles when a Democrat is elected into office. How come I feel as though I should do that if Romney wins?

2012-11-02 01:36:26 PM
I got as far as the line about supporting new energy technologies but phasing out the subsidies/govt. support once they were self sufficient and had to stop reading. Riiiight, EXACTLY like the subsidies for the oil, coal, natural gas were phased out once those technologies were mature...

I came into these here comments expecting some Romney bashing. I went to the other thread about Obama to read how wonderful he is.

Guess I did not need to do either as these political threads have become so predictable. "Romney Bad" "Obama Good"

Not that I disagree, but am just getting tired of the herds. It will be good to put this all behind us and move on.

Can I go.

Romney has a deep understanding of modern business practices.

Obama didn't close GITMO which he promised to do (probably what I hate most about his first 4 years).
