SilentStrider: Greatsong, but not my favorite Queen song. That would be Stone Cold Crazy.

Based on Queen songs still used in stadiums, I'd say the public votes for "We will rock you/We are the champions". My favorite is "Who wants to live forever", but explaining that song to people who haven't seen Highlander is futile.

Because I'm 'stupid n00b', 'attention ho'
Die in fire, eat a bowl
All these fricking LOLcats,

But I've come to Fark instead

This don't seem so bad
Think I'll hang around here for a while...

*guitar solo*

I see a picture of a kitten with a rifle
Someone help! Someone help!
Caught my testes in the armchair!
Flamewars are in writing
Everybody's fighting!
Sharp knees!

(would you hit that?)
No I wouldn't
(would you hit that?)
No I wouldn't
(would you hit that?)
OK I guess I would
I would, I would, I would

I'm from Chicago, nobody loves me
I play World of Warcarft, look at me, look at me!
Spare me the sight of that man's WIE
Easy come, easy go
Hope I get a greenlight
/Submitter - No! They did not turn it green!
(Turn it green!)
//Submitter - No! They will not turn it green!

DemoKnite: Bohemian Rhapsody gets played on every "Eagle" or "Wolf" classic rock station ad nauseum in the US. The oft ignored "dont stop me now" gets no airplay in America, but tons in the UK. I dont think Bohemian is their best song by a long shot.

Don't stop me now is probably the best google doodle of all time

I still haven't decided if Shaun of the Dead ruined that song for me or not. Either way, I'm always going to picture a bunch of people smacking an old zombie with pool cues when that song is playing.

Arguing about what's the best Queen song is a bit like arguing about what's the best Pizza topping. Doesn't matter what you put on it, it's still PIZZA.

TeddyRooseveltsMustache: Queen has tons of great songs. They're one of the best bands ever. All of the members musical geniuses in their own right. That's rare these days.

all good, no great songs, but the live, 6:41 version of "Hammer to Fall" at Wembley is my favorite rock video of all time.

FirstNationalBastard: Yeah, but the human capacity for self-delusion being what it is, is anyone really going to say to themselves "I've probably got full blown AIDS and am going to die" before an official diagnosis?

I gotta be honest? I was never an internationally promiscuous gay dude in the mid 80's. That question doesn't even EXIST anymore in my white middle class world. I'm just talkin' about the gestures and the facial expressions in the video making me feel like I'm looking at a guy taking an opportunity to scream against his fate.

Tanukis_Parachute: I really like the song Mustafa from Jazz.

love the whole jazz album actually. i knew about we will rock you and we are the champions but jazz was the first one that i bought as a kid (of Queen albums). maybe it was the post that came with it.

Well Jazz is just a great album, truly one of Queens best. Fat Bottomed Girls anyone??

Too many great Queen tunes to pick one as the best but I always liked "It's Late" better than "Bohemian Rhapsody".

freetomato: A nice version of the song.

Anyone else but me looking forward to the Mercury biopic?

I'm actually wanting to see the fuller documentary that BBC somebody or other is putting out around the same time or recently just did? I have the Solo Collection book, lovely thing, but I still really like anecdotes from people like Montserrat Caballe (just hospitalized!) and Elton John and other friends outside of Queen proper.

There were rumors that Freddy wrote that song while he was suffering from AIDS, which would have made that song very tragic. But that apparently isn't true.

He may not have written it then? But he knew he had it when he was recording the music videos for the Kind of Magic album, and the video for that song with him in front of the candles, it's written all over his face. He looks the same way in that video that his voice sounds in The Show Must Go On.

Pocket Ninja: Nice, subby. Queen's best song. Too bad this is posting to the desert of the entertainment tab or you would have had some pretty good responses to that. I would have probably amped up the headline a bit by replacing the title "Bohemian Rhaposody" with "that song from Wayne's World," but that's just me.

Not their best song in my opinion. I always liked "Silent Lucidity" better.

Flab: How many times can the author repeat that it was longer than most songs at the time?

Well, we will probably never see a long song like that again in our lifetime. People have the attention span of a fly.

And there's no doubt it's the greatest rock song Queen ever did, even if it's been completely played to death, it's just a classic.

simplicimus: I can just imagine Freddie explaining the song to the rest of the band. "OK, we start singing this song, then we switch to this song, then another song, then we finish up with this song."

By that time the rest of the band knew who they were dealing with and trusted him to bring in the hits.

Now, explaining that to someone that never heard of Queen before would have been priceless.
