What, is HuffPo trying to call them out? They're proud of it. They're regularly trumpeting themselves as patriots for being the only news network that dares to investigate it.

Maybe it's the right thing, or maybe it's asinine. But trying to call them out over it is exactly what they want.

Yeah, the Obama administration dun farked up and a one-figure number of american citizens were killed.

Let us not forget how the Bush administration dun farked up and a four figure number of people were killed just under 11 years and 2 months ago.

I lost whatever remaining shred of respect for Fox News as a legitimate news source when on the morning after the impact of Sandy, while people were dying and homes were being destroyed, they had the headline up on screen "WHAT IS OBAMA HIDING ABOUT LIBYA?"

I'm quite certain the house of representatives will vote, probably immediately upon his confirmation to a second term, to impeach the president. I'm also quite certain the articles of impeachment they draw up will be trumped up garbage, will feature vague accusations about what should have been done regarding the attack on the consulate in benghazi, and will basically be poorly-worded red meat for hardcore Republican partisans. Fox News will cream its pants and the Senate will completely ignore the House. We will then spend the next four years with the Republicans doing nothing but getting in the way, which is what they've been doing for the last four years. Benghazi changes nothing.

2012-11-02 10:59:33 AM
They did do a piece on Christie touring the damage. They failed to mention he was with the President, but that's probably not important.

Does anyone know if right-wing radio is doing the same? Propaganda works best when all the outlets work together.

Yes, but it was worth it. Six, maybe seven Fox News viewers had a revelation about how terrible the channel is and how they've wasted years watching it. They will now vote for Obama out of spite.

If they didn't impeach Bush for ignoring his pre-9/11 DPBs about bin Laden (3000 dead), misleading in the country into a war (~4500 American dead and >100,000 total dead), and war crimes including torture (waterboarding and extraordinary rendition), then I don't think they are going to impeach Obama over Benghazi (4 dead).

Oh wait, I forgot the rules are different for Democratic presidents, who can face impeachment proceedings for lying about an affair.

It's amazing how much Republicans care about the Benghazi attacks and how the President should have known they were coming, but they'll scream bloody murder if you say the same thing about Bush and 9/11.

(For the record, the Benghazi consulate should have had better security. It was a tragedy and a failure in intelligence. Obama is the President, so the buck stops with him. As horrible as it was, it does appear that all protocols were followed and the protocols obviously need to be updated. It's tragic but to say that Obama willfully ignored security requests is outright lying.)

And, don't forget: Bush was impeached for ignoring intelligence on imminent terrorist attacks which resulted in the deaths of 3000 Americans. So, naturally Obama should face the same scrutiny here.

You know, part of the problem with the ~4 years of consecutive outrage from the Right about a half black guy who (rhetoric aside) is actually a fairly pragmatic, moderate compromiser, is that when something truly horrific happens, like this Benghazi thing, it's lost in the background of relentless wharble garble, and no one takes it as seriously as they should.

"This is America, not a third world nation. We need food, we need clothing," Staten Island Borough President Jim Molinaro said today. "My advice to the people of Staten Island is: Don't donate the American Red Cross. Put their money elsewhere."

The Red Cross and the National Guard arrived in the area late Tuesday and are distributing food, water and gas - and city officials say things are much better.

So on Thursday they were complaining, when the RC and NG had arrived 2 days before? Am I missing something?

That would be a good reason to cover it, if it's true. But it's not.

I mean sure, in the sense that "there could be an attempted impeachment over anything" it could happen. But that's quite a reach.
