There is a petition out there to name one of the new class (CVN-80) of carrier the Enterprise.

Too much politics in naming our carriers. I don't feel to keen on naming carriers after politicians. Stennis and Vinson? Reagan....who never saw a day of combat in his life. Really?

We need to bring back Saratoga, Yorktown, Midway, Constellation, Independence, etc. and keep the politicians out of it.

We need to keep an Enterprise at sea.

After its nuclear fuel and eight reactors are safely removed, CVN-65, The USS Enterprise, will be cut up and sold for scrap.

They should just name all of their ships after Star Trek ships.

I don't give a shiat about this. Until we close our secret prisons on Rura Penthe, I will not support this administration.

The classic names. Military ships should carry on the traditions, and the names, of those who came before them. I would also say it has an effect on the morale of those who serve on them. Which would inspire people more, serving on the USS Yorktown, with all its history...or serving on the USS Bob Dole?

If I were human. I believe my response would be "go to hell". If I were human...
