How is it that people are still finding thses things "mysterious"?

2012-11-02 04:48:02 AM
Damn, those were great springs. Not to worry, with all the eq activity in that area that is the least of their concerns.

Lack of intellectual curiosity.

So what happens now? Does that spring eventually pop up somewhere else or will it build up pressure until it pops like a pimple? It would really suck if it just runs into a deep crevasse never to see the light of day again.

Very familiar with the Pacific NW...lived here all my life. There was a really awesome hotsprings in Mt. Rainier National Park. Some people made a hot tub of sorts out of rocks around where it came out of a hillside by the Ohanapecosh campground. I went skinny dipping there once with a redhead lesbian.

The area surrounding the hot springs is largely uninhabited, although it is near SGang Gwaay llnagaay, a Haida village of 300 that was abandoned in the 1880s following a devastating smallpox epidemic.

That's one thing they don't seem to cure, then.

Other than being a primitive hot tub there are no health benefits from soaking in hot springs regardless of what First Nation people might think.

I'm constantly struck by the hypocracy of Farkers who rail against Christianity but give every other religion a 'pass' on their asinine ideas including Indian/Native American/First Nation/Aboriginal ones.

Yes, having grown up in Ontario, I'm aware Gitchie-Manitou is derived from the Great Lakes area. HOWEVER, when you submit from your shiatty company BB, you tend to get lazy about researching West-Coast names for native spirits on a 2" screen and just go with what you know.

Also , go visit the non-aboriginal folks on those islands some day, and you'll understand why I said "Hipster" and not "Hippie".
