Mugato: Wasn't that the villain in one of the Hulk movies?

No. Not unless it was a Bill Bixby TV movie one. If so, that would have had the shiattiest special effects ever. Would actually like to see that.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Even stupider than rebooting Spider-man 10 years after the first movie.

My first thought. Trolling headlines, inaccuracies, spelling errors or dropping tradition. There needs to be Subby 101 lessons around this piece.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Eric Bana version. Electro controls electricity. Zzzax is electricity. Although he was also kind of a weird cross with Absorbing Man as well.

I always liked Electro. Con Ed lineman in horrible accident, embraces life as a super-villain instead of sulking in his house waiting for his cash cow to roll in from a lawsuit.

Less arbitration, more reprobation!

I never realized Max Dillon was African-American, he must be related to Kingpin and Nick Fury.

And you almost have to respect someone who has the balls to wear this in public, even in Marvel New York.

While they are busy taking a large crap on the franchise how about bringing back some of the more ridiculous villains for shiats and giggles?

My vote: Kangaroo Man and his awesome kangaroo powers.

I just they had done more than two bwfore rebooting. Maybe with Venom. Just don't make Raimi shoehorn him in because he has interest in that villian.

If they're going to make the damn things at least pepper the minor guys in for comic relief and sub-plottery. I'd rather watch Kangaroo Man, Boomerang, Tarantula or Big Wheel than emo Peter Parker dancing around.

Has anyone noticed most of the original Spider-Man villains revolve around science experiments gone awry? I don't even really need to list them. It's an interesting theme that science was once kind of cool, mysterious and dangerous but now they just dig up old villains.

It's also odd that this same kind of theme didn't extend to, say, Fantastic Four, who were led by a scientist, whose nemesis was a scientist, got powers during a science experiment in space (but which were later attributed to not science) but mostly fought aliens, mutants and seamen.

This is what I love about non-comic geeks. You find out they changed Nick Fury's skin color ten years after the fact and still can't quit griping about it.

/Electro's a decent enough villain

I'm not a comic aficionado, but I was under the impression that oftentimes good comics have villains that parallel the hero. I thought that was part of the reason why people were so upset in the Raimi films that Spider-Man didn't invent his web-slingers, because it took something away from his connection to Dr. Octopus.

I'm comfortable with blaming James Cameron for the mutant web shooters.

Was Will Smith unavailable ?

The original Vulture would be cool. I see great visual shots of the vulture sweeping down on Spidey.

Plus he was old man so you get that "get off my lawn & old man strength " into play.

This...from what I understand when James Cameron was set to direct, and pushing for Leo to be Peter Parker, the concept of organic web slingers was added.

I'm gonna admit I liked Amazing Spider-man. As much as I like Raimi, I didn't like Tobey as Peter Parker. I though Andrew Garfield fit the role better.
