Not sure anyone can actually take credit for that since you know...

it's all over the farking web

I likely had seen one of those images and have since forgotten originally viewing. I would not consider the statement to be particularly profound; the Twilight series is that awful, and Up's opening will produce an emotional response in a Vulcan.

of course, it's posted in almost any twilight thread you try to avoid. I think anyone would agree with that statement. my comment was directed at comalite, who seemed to think you took it from some random poster. I was merely pointing out that you're innocent of plagiarism, and only guilty of reading Twilight threads;)

You must be mistaken. Clearly I am a plagiarist, and I will sign an affidavit affirming such.

afmrick: What no Seymour from Futurama's Jurrasic Bark (S4E7)? That had me crying like a baby as well!

The list is for movie deaths, but sooooo much farking this. I'm a grown man and I've never shed a tear whilst watching a movie or television show, but that episode came closer to making the room dusty for me than any of those movies ever could.

scottydoesntknow: afmrick: What no Seymour from Futurama's Jurrasic Bark (S4E7)? That had me crying like a baby as well!

While I appreciate that episode (and it's a great farking episode), Luck of the Fryrish (where Fry finds out about his brother "stealing" his name) hits me a lot harder than it.

Now the one that will almost make me tear up with happiness is Leela finding out about her parents. The whole montage at the end just gets me.

I absolutely agree with you and was about to say the same thing. I know people are attached to their the dogs, but the reveal in Luck kills me. You think Fry is up to his usual crazy nonsense, then, bam. The truth comes out.

2012-11-01 09:33:32 PM
I remember watching the 1984 Transformer movie in the theaters. I was 8 years old. In the first 15 minuets, over 2/3rds of the toys I owned died. Permanently.
I now see they were updating the toy line but it was a somewhat gruesome way to do it.

Ugh, same here!

2012-11-01 09:45:25 PM
I actually already KNEW what was going to happen in the first ten minutes of Up. It was spoiled for me.

I thought I was prepared. I mostly managed to hold it together, knowing what would happen...

Then it got to the scene where he was sitting alone after the funeral. With a balloon.

I bawled like baby.

that said! To those of you saying "Oh god Luck of the Fryish" or "Oh god Jurrasic Bark", doesn't Bender's Game semi-undo the sadness? (He actually spent many more years with Seymour, etc.)

/Also cried at the end of Toy Story 3. More bittersweet than sad, though.

I am glad to see it's not just me who gets upset over Ray getting killed in Princess and the Frog.I always cry at the end as well when they show he is a star. One movie that always has made me cry like a baby is the part in Dumbo when his mother sings the Baby of Mine song to him.

I can't watch that movie because of that scene, it hits really really close to home.

Dimensio: rickycal78: ManateeGag: will look later, but I imagine Clayton from Tarzan is top 3.

The headline is kind of misleading. The actual article is "10 Most Powerful Animated Deaths" not "10 harshest and most painful animated deaths."

And the list actually wasn't that bad. I'd throw Up and Iron Giant a little higher in the list, but for once the list wasn't horrible.

"Superman".

Damn youse...It's a bit dusty in here...

I never saw the Garfield/Diana thing as a kid, saw it on YouTube a couple months ago, and cried cried cried.
Luck of the Fryish and The Late Phillip J Fry from Futurama
"Superman...."
Jessie's Song in Toy Story 2
Two parts of "The Scene" in UP, not only when she dies, but when she is sitting in the chair in the yard when she finds out about the infertility. Also when he finally opens her Adventure Book
The incinerator scene and the end of Toy Story 3
And to add one I never see mentioned, Maggie's first word, "Daddy", on the Simpsons.

The recent one with Farnsworth's parents in the old folks home suspended reality thing kicked my ASS hardcore. I seriously sat there losing it, especially at the end. My grandmother has dementia, has no idea who anyone is (she's just happy people visit; she has no idea who they are, but she's happy to see them), and that episode kinda makes me wish that existed, as wrong as it would be, cause she'd not be living in a confused mess like she is now, but able to be anywhere and any time. =(

I think it hit me cause it was kinda personal. I was just thinking of how it'd be nice to put my grandmother and grandfather back in time, to where they were building this house 30 years ago to retire in. Both mobile, cognizant, and in his case, alive. =(

The only animated movie I remember bawling over was an anime about a boy whose mother was turned into a dragon for drinking from a sacred lake/river without permission. Towards the end the mother sacrifices herself to break a boulder that's blocking a river that's preventing crops from being planted and is therefore starving a village.

Fortunately, the mother is revived and turned back due to her selflessness.

So even though there's a happy ending, it's an unexpected happy ending.

Anybody know the name of that movie?
