Wow. First they spend hours desperately not covering Obama meeting with Chris Christie, and now this.

If we can get enough prominent Republicans to endorse Obama, maybe Fox News will just become a test pattern and a web site that says "EVERYONE SUPPORTS ROMNEY" for the remainder of the year and the entirety of Obama's second term.

The precious snowflake you mention is one of the primary economic engines of this country.

The GDP of NYC is $1,280.5 BN. Ranked against countries, it has the 14th highest GDP in the world, beating out nations such as the Netherlands, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

So when flooding from rising rising sea levels knockout power to everything below Chelsea, completely cripple mass transit in the metro area, and flood almost all of the tunnels between Manhattan and Long Island, that affects every American in this nation.

Get a farking clue.

Wait, what makes you think Bloomberg is a liberal? This is a guy that stood in the way if raising the minimum wage in NYC. He has also rubber stamped the NYPD's stop-and-frisk initiatives, which targeted minoritities 90% of the time. Oh and lets not forget him endirsing the NYPD spying on Muslim college students who went on camping trips in other states.

Is Mike Bloomberg a liberal? No, but he is a paternalistic, authoritarian, plutocratic douchebag. And you're a goddamn idiot for thinking this man a liberal.

I'm sure you don't care, but Bloomberg's decision to believe that global warming is a significant political issue to base his endorsement on has very little to do with Hurricane Sandy. The Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation has spent years trying to push programs for the reduction of greenhouse gases throughout the world.

Bloomberg is trying to use the increased attention related to all these events to try to pressure Obama into pursuing environmental issues in his second term. I honestly doubt he will though; it's a waste of too much political capital for an issue that frankly Americans don't care about when the economy isn't great. If the economy accelerates we might see Democrats dip their toes in the water, but I doubt this issue will get the attention its proponents think it deserves.

Well in more than a few ways Bloomberg is, though.

Could it be that he just believes Obama is the better man to help keep the country together?

Otherwise, with all his business acumen you'd think he'd choose Romney.

Well, that was a silly headline for a significant Obama endorsement.

Bloomberg explained why President Obama deserves another term. The guy is rich as Croesus and can't be bought, unlike pundits as David Brooks at the NYT who gave the foolish "Romney can work with contemptible Republicans in Congress" argument.

Actually, Romney won't work with them, he will work for them. As Grover Norquist says, all Romney needs to do is be able to hold a pen, I'll tell him what to sign.

Because taking actions to try and prevent future storms like Sandy from getting worse and causing even MORE death and destruction doesn't do anything at all to help American families.
