If I were her, I'd be more worried about that basketball clogging her GI tract after I shoved it up her ass.

OH NOES! A child is out of doors, exercising?? The HORROR!!

Yes, neighbor noises can be annoying. Unfortunately, you are not the center of the universe. Therefore, if you require absolute quiet, it is on you to A) move somewhere without close neighbors, or B) soundproof your space.

jedikinkoid: Prank Call of Cthulhu: The lady is an annoying whiner. That being said, though, driveway basketball is the fourth most annoying suburban noise pollution (barking dogs is #1, skateboarders is #2, and #3 is that guy who drives around with the loud car stereo playing the song that goes FOOM BOOM-BOOM, FOOM BOOM-BOOM, FOOM BOOM-BOOM at some ridiculous decibel level).

My #2 would be the high-pitched shrieks of children chasing each other, but otherwise I couldn't agree more.

I live near the airport, so the gubmint came and gave me all new triple-pane windows and glass doors, and sprayed insulation throughout the house. You could shoot someone and cut their body up with a chainsaw in my front yard and I probably couldn't hear it.

/ahhh, silence

The top three happen at night basketball by and large happens during the day. If you happen to sleep during the day trust me I have sympathy for you (I've done the night shift routine too) but you might as well include lawn mowing, weed whackers, construction, and just plain being a child to your list.

My neighbors have young kids and I swear to god I'd rather be water boarded than listen to 5 year old girls playing while I need to sleep. You know the ones I mean, the ones who have just realized that loud high pitched sounds evoke a reaction from everyone around them and use ever excuse they can find to make loud high pitched shrieks.

I bought a townhouse next to some renters who cannot walk up and down the stairs without sounding like they are stomping. Two teenaged boys who run up and down at all hours of the night, and the parents don't do anything about it..

It's called common courtesy.. If they had to build a wall to protect her window, it means that the noise it right outside her window..

I think she should just move. I don't agree with a law suit, but I understand where she's coming from.

Perhaps she should read this book: Here And maybe talk to the author.

"It's been hell for three years," Elliott said.

I would suggest going without food, water and shelter for 4 consecutive days before attempting to define "hell."

The beauty of renting is that you can easily move if you don't like your accomodations. If it is preventing her from doing her work. STFU and GTFO.

If listening to a kid play basketball is your idea of Hell, you are a worthless, sheltered coont.
