Keep telling yourselves that conservatards. That'll keep you from blowing up until late next tuesday night.

Vote for Romney because you should be mad at Obama for making it possible for Romney to exercise broad powers if Romney wins.

I hope my cable is restored by Tuesday night so I can watch the melt down live.

Neither side can really be excited by our ballot options.

Speak for yourself, chief.

As we draw to the end of this campaign, I say this: If Obama wins again, I will leave the country. Not because he won, I am voting for him, because I will not be able to stand the incessant whining butthurt of the Republicans shrieking about a stolen election and illegitimate candidates.

2012-11-01 12:06:18 PM
Holy shiat that was derptastic.

Not sure why, but I was expecting better from Forbes.

We are at the start of a conservative meltdown.

I just feel bad for the Secret Service.

Seriously though, it's going to get better. The old white people will start dying off soon. The Baby Boomers are nearing their 70s. In about 15 years, expect the tide of change to finally shift and power will be restored. The real question is: what then? We're going to have to fix the deficits and debt. Will the GOP begin to work again w/Obama or will they continue this stonewalling bullsh*t?

I just read that FEMA will need a lot more money from this disaster. Will the do-nothing Congress give it to them?

Yeah, though the folks who start posting on Red State and FR that they're going to go to Washington and "fix the problem themselves" are the ones who will really feel the pain.

It's more of a matter of this:

Sam Seaborn: You wrote a concession?
Toby Ziegler: Of course I wrote a concession. You want to tempt the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing?
Sam Seaborn: No.
Toby Ziegler: Then go outside, turn around three times and spit. What the hell's the matter with you?

[later]
Sam Seaborn: He wrote a concession speech.
Josh Lyman: Of course he wrote a concession speech. Why wouldn't he? What possible reason would he have for not writing a concession speech?
Sam Seaborn: The wrath from high atop the thing.
Toby Ziegler: He upped and said we were gonna...
Josh Lyman: No, you got to go outside, turn around three times and curse.
Toby Ziegler: Spit.
Josh Lyman: Spit and curse.
Toby Ziegler: Do everything. Go!
Josh Lyman: Go!
Toby Ziegler: Go!
Josh Lyman: Go!
Toby Ziegler: Go!
[Sam gets up and leaves the room]

Washington should be constrained to duties where neither side can do much damage. Before voters champion new public sector initiatives, they ought to envision their rivals manning the levers of power. Unless you can unhesitatingly entrust something to the opposing party, why would anyone welcome Washington's involvement?

Just as reckless spending under Bush robbed Republicans of the credibility to effectively counter Obama, Democrats bemoaning Romney's excesses next year ought to be reminded how this underscores the necessity of limited government.

Or you could stop your Republican Party from sucking so much. Go back to the moderation you guys once exemplified (hint: it isn't with the Tea Party). If you nominate another Eisenhower, we'll gladly give him the keys to power.

THIS. So f*cking much this.

It's not about party. Really. We're just trying to vote for the best person for the job. Dammit Republicans, stop giving us the shiattiest candidates imaginable. They're all giant bigoted douches and racist turd sandwiches.

If you can stomach most of that tripe, you'll get to this: If Mitt Romney wins, he will shepherd several broadly encompassing programs started or expanded by Obama.

So, essentially, Romney is the same as Obama.

So vote Republican

President Obama might be handing Mitt Romney unparalleled presidential power.

To be fair, this part is correct. Which is why it's imperative that Romney not be allowed to nominate the next two Supreme Court Justices, who would be in the model of Justice Antonin "It's preposterous to think that a police officer would want to search people without Probable Cause" Scalia.

To illustrate a point, accept that Republicans are equally inept, waste as much and are just as scandal prone as Democrats.

I'm sorry, I cannot accept that. You are very wrong, Mr(s) opinionator. The Republicans are not equally inept. For example, they nominated Mitt Romney. That's not an Elevated Inept, it's more of a High Inept, they could have achieved Severe Inept if that nominated Bachmann. I'd put the Democrats somewhere between Guarded and Elevated. Might as well kick Low off the list. That'll never happen.

TheBeastOfYuccaFlats: Toby Ziegler hilarity

Nice. Personally I'm fond of:

[The office staff watches the Senate start to vote on Mendoza's confirmation to the Supreme Court and begin celebrating. Bonnie starts handing around a bottle of champagne]
Toby: Put it down! Put it down!
Bonnie: Toby!
Toby: No champagne.
Bonnie: We're just getting--
Toby: Put it down. Everyone in this room, let me have your attention! Please. The law of our land mandates that Presidential appointees be confirmed by a majority of the Senate, a majority being a total of half plus one for a total of what, Ginger?
Ginger: Fifty-one.
Toby: Fifty-one 'yea' votes is what we see on these screens before a drop of wine is swallowed! Because there's a little thing called what, Bonnie?
Bonnie: "Tempting fate"?
Toby: "Tempting fate" is what it's called. In the three months that this man has been on my radar screen, I have aged forty-eight years. This is my day of jubilee, I will not have it screwed up by what, Bonnie?
Bonnie: By tempting fate.
Toby: By tempting fate!

Also vote for Romney because if you don't then the Republicans will throw a hissy fit and completely blockade congress and then you'll have a do-nothing government. Vote GOP so the GOP doesn't destroy the country out of spite.

I guess if you can't offer any tangible policy positions, you just start slinging shiat against the wall.

This is exactly how I interpreted Romney's debate promise to get things done with Congress right away if elected. It's the point at which I went from not liking the man to absolutely loathing him
