Dear baseball players from other countries,

FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD DON'T EVER GO BACK HOME.

Signed, Chester

Seriously though, one day after receiving his MLB pension check. Probably hadn't even cashed it yet.

Is it sad that the only thing I really remember about him was that this was the first error card I ever got my hands on?

It's supposed to show the player's position inside the orange stripe in the lower left. Correct version:

/Not exactly the Billy Ripken "fark face" card, but it was a big deal to a 10 year-old in '82. ;)

His not being able to find the stadium was what pulled the Braves out of a 20+ game losing streak. The team was laughing so hard when he finally arrived in the 4th inning that it loosened up the clubhouse. They made the playoffs that year (and of course lost).

I don't know that you can say he instigated that. It took hitting him three times to get the brawl going. I think it's fair to say he wasn't well liked, lol.

But thanks for bringing back that memory. I had forgotten all about

I'd stick to your NFL credentials:

Treygreen13, who threw 85 fewer interceptions than Tony Romo (so far), viciously slain by pack of roaming armadillos in scuttle-by killing

That was awesome, thanks for the link! So many players from my past: Garvey, Gossage, Horner, Gary "The Rat" Templeton. (kind of obscure nickname I made up when I was 9?)

And Nettles sure looked like a clown. Yikes.

You wanna get the stats on per capita crime victims? I'd take my chances in Harlem before going south of he border.

Besides, that's not the first time that money was stolen, just ask the Yankees.

i remember Perez when he was with the Braves would get penalized for wearing his gold chains. they had just passed some kind of rule about excessive jewelry. he tried the 'for religious reasons' argument from what i remember but i dont think it worked. bummer, i'd forgotten all about Perez until today.

Every time I'm on 285 and niss my exit due to not paying attention, I remember him fondly

True story: shortly after his driving fiasco, I'm riding in the truck with my grnadmother and cousins after the laser show. We're on 285 needing to get onto I-20 and she missed the exit, turned around and missed the exit again! I looked at her and said "Good job, Pascual". That's when I learned my granmda had long ago mastered the art of the one arm behind the seat face slap.

Loved his 5-inning no-hitter. And his between-the-legs pickoff move. Or was that his brother? Too lazy to google it

im going down there this weekend. my brother lives north of atlanta. i lived down there 1 summer and i hated 285. it was slow as mud and didnt alleviate traffic for shiat. didnt then need an even bigger outer loop? dont remember that well anymore, just that it sucked big time.

mediablitz I think it's fair to say he wasn't well liked, lol.

When he first came up to the majors after he struck somebody out he would point his finger at him and make like he was blowing the smoke away from a gun. Drove the old school guys nuts.

Melido is actually the Mayor of the city Pascual was residing in.

Carlos is actually STILL playing ball in the Dominican Winter League. He pitched the other day and he was surprisingly good.

Yorkis is fully retired from public life.
