freewill: The mob bank the Joker robs in the opening scene. Bank manager marches out with a shotgun screaming "Do you have any idea who you're stealin' from?! You and your friends are dead!"

1 minute, 16 seconds. I would've had it if I hadn't gone for the snarky second paragraph.

/Shakes tiny internet fist.

FWIW, there are so many things wrong with that opening sequence that it's hard to keep count, but the choreography, the direction and the writing carry it along so well that you don't stop to question it until you're in the car park after the movie.

Don't date girls that question anything when you're in the car park after the movie.

When I was still dating, I couldn't afford to be that fussy. She could question the sincerity of Wittgenstein's late-life rejection of logical positivism, and I would have tried to explain it if I thought it would get me to second base.

/For the record, it didn't
//For best effect, you should read the above in Dennis Miller's voice

Berz: iheartscotch: stlbluez: iheartscotch: Pro tip: don't try to rob a bank in a fly-over state. Those guys are aweful shooty.

/ well; exept places like Kansas City and St. Louis. They don't have guns.

?

Major cities like Kansas City and St. Louis are heavily populated by democrats; as such, they have some weird gun laws.

They never said what town/city in Missouri where the incident occurred in; but the bank president wasn't arrested; so we can assume that he wasn't in a major city.

Democrat and gun owner in KC (with CCW). Did I just blow your mind?

Thats ballsy as hell, what made you so confident that you wouldnt have that right stripped from you ever since Clinton was elected? As shiatty a pill as it was to swallow, if George W had lost either presidential election we would have had a different SCOTUS decision on the 2nd. I can finally vote other than republican for the first time in my life as Clinton was elected when I was in 7th grade, which marked the beginning of the war on self preservation in my memory.

The goblin should have been shot on general principals thereby saving the taxpayers many millions of dollars in legal fees and incarceration costs. His estate should be billed for the bullet.

i feel that people who are guilty of crime should have to pay all the costs associated with their nonsense. taxpayers should not be burdened by scumbags. and in the same sense, huge corporations who make big bucks illegally and pay tiny fines when caught, that shiat should go right out the window too. i'm not holding my breath on any of this pie in the sky.

David Thompson, the bank manager, called in to Jamie Allman's show this morning, so if you want to hear about the incident, go here and click the David Thompson bar.

Its a nice idea but too many changes need to be made to our legal system before implementing something that draconian, I don't want somebody caught with a joint having to pay for 6 months of housing. I know a guy that sat out the maximum penalty for a joint (6 mo. in county in TX) waiting for a court date because he couldn't afford private counsel.

How many of the bank customers were blown away by the bank manager in his haste apprehend the robber?
And how many of the customers got confused about the bad guy and started shooting at the manager?

Nice.

You owe your life to the boss. Ask convenience store clerks. You can't be worth more than the cash in your drawer.

HUH? WHA? He followed the bank robber out of the bank and confronted him in the parking lot. From what I understand, there wasn't anybody in the vicinity.

As someone that has their CFP and does carry the bank president is a freaking idiot. My CFP is not a badge and neither is his. He choose to follow the man out the bank and escalate the situation by drawing his firearm. The money is insured and covered and red dye and this idiot wants to be a hero.

I know they will not but he should have his right to carry concealed revoked.

You would lose that bet.

Plus, if the insurance company is raising hell with the Board it wouldn't matter since president of the board is the bank president's dad. The entire family are avid hunters including an annual African safari trip.

You seem like you are close to this situation. So if i get this correctly, from reading between the lines of your post.....

An employee of this bank can carry a concealed weapon on the job.
An employee of this bank can apprehend robbers.
Because of family nepotism, the insurance company is willing to overlook the liability that could be involved.
The bank pres will never get shot and killed or get anyone else shot and killed because he knows how to shoot unarmed animals in Africa.

Good enough for me.

An employee of this bank can carry a concealed weapon on the job. YES, SAYS SO ON THE DOOR
An employee of this bank can apprehend robbers. YES, THE PRESIDENT DID. HE IS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE BANK
Because of family nepotism, the insurance company is willing to overlook the liability that could be involved. BECAUSE THE BANK IS LOCALLY OWNED AND THE MAJORITY OWNERSHIP IS WITH FAMILY, WHO GIVES A FLYING FIG WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY SAYS. INSURANCE COMPANY DROPS THEM, THEY CAN GO OUT AND GET ANOTHER INSURANCE COMPANY. 'MERICA, FARK YEAH!
The bank pres will never get shot and killed or get anyone else shot and killed because he knows how to shoot unarmed animals in Africa. NOW YOU'RE JUST BEING GLIB

Good enough for me.
