There was an ad a few years back where Russ Feingold had "Wisconsin" citizens talking about how he didn't represent special interests and was only looking out for Wisconsinites. However, it turns out those "Wisconsinites" were actually lobbyists for various special interests.

So yeah, I like this idea.

In this case, who cares? This commenter may or may not have been directly involved in illegal activity. Or perhaps they were talking out of their rear end from some cornfield.
Match the commenter's name with the jurors' names and there's your answer. Dishes are done. Even appoint arbitration so the person stays anonymous if he or she was not involved.
If a judge or attorney is angered and wants to know my identity because I said I prefer brunettes to blondes and Han took the one and only shot, that's when we're all in trouble.

I like how they mention the user's pseudonym like they're going to magically get his real name from the registration account. Our local paper's website started posting people's 'real names' next to their user names because they were getting completely out of hand on discussions (small towns, rural area), and the smart ones had fake names registered. The dumb ones kept using real names until they realized what was going on, and now the entire site is a ghost town except for a few times a month when something actually interesting happens.

There are also a few who used their real names before and after because they 'stand by what they say'; I'm friends with one of them and part of her reasoning was she writes a column so it doesn't matter either way, which makes sense. However she's a little batty and I've privately contacted her several times to disprove things she's repeated from Fox News or whatever. The reason I still stay in touch with her is that she can admit when she's wrong and that she should have researched the subject better. Not many people out there will do that...
