I love that Mike Brown wants to take a lineup of mostly fast, good passers (BTW, playing fast doesn't take a toll on your body nearly as much as plodding around in the paint and running through a million screens does) and force them into the Princeton offense.

I hope, after this season, that they retroactively take Mike Brown's Coach of the Year award and give that to LeBron, too.

The schadenfreude tastes so damned good right now. Have to enjoy it while I can.

\would be better if this made athletes think about promising mega-dynasties in the preseason, but that only would work if athletes thought.

Mike Brown is kinda terrible.

Does anyone wonder whether Kobe and an actual point guard is a problem?

Oh, also, I hope Steve Nash gets traded somewhere else so I can enjoy the Lakers' failure a lot more.

If only there were enough games played in the NBA to where 2 losses didn't mean anything.

If only.

Man they lost two games? They're done. Fire the coach, burn the building down. Move the team. (I suggest Minnesota, there's a lot of lakes there).

Seriously. 2 games. Out of 82. Overreacting now is like giving up a TD on the opening drive of the NFL season and then forfeiting the rest of the year.

They'll be fine, we don't need a media orgasm every time they lose complete with talking head analysis of what Twitter thinks about Mike Brown's offense.

/I guess it is better than breathless coverage of the Jets QB situation though

Exactly, if I run some extrapolations on that, mix in some weighted polls, and toss in a dash of statisticals, they're going 0-82, if my math is right.

This is going to cost them a higher seed. Now stuck at 3rd instead of 2nd. Therefore they will be in tougher, longer playoff series. Kobe and Nash are old. Wear and tear, etc.

It's over.

You're not worried in the least that your team, with 3 of the big 4 having great games, just dropped 2 games to Dallas and Portland, a couple of teams who will probably struggle to win 40-45 games this year, let alone make the playoffs?

Look, if this was a case of D12 still knocking off some rust or Gasol trying to adjust to his new teammates, fine, but besides Nash the stars seem to be doing pretty well. To me this points to something more fundamental, whether it's the lack of bench production or the fact that Mike Brown couldn't coach a high school team or whatever.

I could definitely see him a center or even a point guard, he's got the body for it...and the kid's got heart...And I've said it before, he knows how to win; he's a finisher. He's the #1 in assists and rebounds in the 4th quarter when trailing by 6 to14 points, on the third equinox of the second harvest moon, in Novembers AND Aprils when it's rained at least twice on opposite Sundays. I would build a team around this kid. Sure his mechanics are terrible unorthodox, but he gets the W's, and in the National Basketball Association, that's all that matters. That and shoe deals. Wins, shoe deals, and how much Ice you have. Ok, ok, shoes, ice, cars, suits, and how much you paid for you "Beats by Dre."

/I can haz ESPN contracts now?

Two losses aren't a big deal. What the Lakers should be concerned about is their total lack of depth. Nash/Bryant/Artest/Gasol/Howard are as good a starting five as you'll find, but they're not exactly young and expecting 40+ minutes out of them every night would be ludicrous.

Don't forget, he's a major positive influence in the locker room and the sidelines. And the kid is a winner. He just wins.

Normally I'd agree. But his beard is rather spectacular in late december. Let in the year anyway - when the steelers will probably be at home watching the playoffs on tv so you won't get to see it.

The talking heads lost their minds when the Heat dropped their first game against the Celtics with their new 'Big Three' lineup. I just hate that Nash is on this team, thus hindering my ability to blindly cheer against them...

Unfortunately for Nash and Co., Mike Brown is playing checkers on a chess board.

That saying don't make no sense. Checker boards and chess boards are essentially the same, use black checkers on black squares and the red checkers on the white squares.

Seriously. After seeing what he has done with the Lakers the last season and two games there is little doubt in my mind that the problem in Cleveland was NOT LeBron James choking...It was Mike Brown's lack of Coaching Skill

You must not have heard of Paul Westhead, who won in 1980 with the Lakers after taking over for Jack McKinney due to the former coach being smashed up in an accident. He's now wowing 'em with the WNBA.

If people thought that the Heat guaranteed 8 championships, then people probably think the Lakers guaranteed a championship this season. It doesn't matter what people actually say, it just matters what we put in their mouths so we can criticize them.
