jayhawk88: lakrfool: Another hater thread.

Bring it.

It amuses me.

/Rome...day...something...

You're not worried in the least that your team, with 3 of the big 4 having great games, just dropped 2 games to Dallas and Portland, a couple of teams who will probably struggle to win 40-45 games this year, let alone make the playoffs?

Look, if this was a case of D12 still knocking off some rust or Gasol trying to adjust to his new teammates, fine, but besides Nash the stars seem to be doing pretty well. To me this points to something more fundamental, whether it's the lack of bench production or the fact that Mike Brown couldn't coach a high school team or whatever.

Or the Mavs got lucky and the Blazers are awesome.

I was going to make a Jeannie Buss quip, but this is much better.

Laker fan here. Can't lie...I'm getting worried. I see bad patterns emerging.

-Our defense has regressed.
-Our bench gives us nothing (save for Jordan Hill, who I like)
-Nash is playing off the ball too much
-I have very little confidence in our 3 pt shooting (besides Nash and maybe Kobe)
-We're playing too slow on both ends

It's obviously still very early and there's a whole season ahead to correct these problems. But...I get the feeling that the pressure is weighing on them. They seem tight.

Mike Brown defends Lakers offense.

To be fair, it looks like anyone can defend the Lakers offense.

*yawn*

Wake me up in January.

I'm actually;y kind of excited for rookie Damian Lillard. The Blazers have been thoroughly beaten down for picking Oden over Durant a few years ago (Sam Bowie reprise). It's about time they had a first round pick step up- before going to a larger market, larger paycheck.

No mention of how awesome Lillard was in here? Really? Joined Isiah Thomas and The Big O as the only players to debut with a 20 and 10.

If ROY voting wasn't heavily rigged for Unibrow, I'd say Lillard will win it.

I was the game in the Rose Garden last night, to be fair to the Lakers, the RG has been their "house of horrors" for years. The RG was sold out, the fans were raucous with the "Beat LA!" chants, and the Lakers were losing their composure at points. Dwight Howard is the best center in the NBA. Wow, he is good.

I was sitting near the Lakers bench, and we felt nothing but pain for Steve Nash. There is no joy seeing him hurt. We want to beat the "A" team.

IAmRight: Jim from Saint Paul: Ok, did I miss a quote from someone on this team promising a championship this year?

Not saying "We should compete for one", as I would hope ANY team should have that goal, I mean " We are gioing to win it all this year". From anyone.

If people thought that the Heat guaranteed 8 championships, then people probably think the Lakers guaranteed a championship this season. It doesn't matter what people actually say, it just matters what we put in their mouths so we can criticize them.

Nobody said the Heat guaranteed that. They said LeBron did, because he did.

umad: They said LeBron did, because he did.

Again, feel free to actually watch the video. He doesn't guarantee anything. I've posted direct quotes before that show it's not a guarantee -

"you guys came down here to win not one..."
"Not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven...hey, and I'm not just saying that...we believe we can win multiple championships if we take care of business and do it the right way."

BTW, highlights from the video: Pat Riley looking like a mob boss/supervillain with his hands clasped in front of his mouth the whole time, Bosh's face looking scared as F*CK as LeBron is saying that "the way we're going to challenge each other in practice, the games are going to be easy."

But hey, saying you came to the team to win a lot of championships is a guarantee that it's going to happen (if you don't understand English and/or you're a moron).

I'm not the one that said the entire team made the claim, you did. But hey, saying that LeBron said something is the same thing as saying the team said something (if you don't understand English and/or you're a moron)
