Three-Headed Dog: No sense rebuilding. The show is dreadful. Too bad because O'Quinn's character could have really been pretty cool.
SteelDraco: Huh. That's... kind of a shame.(Spoilery discussion follows.)So far it's just really slow. Glacial, honestly. O'Quinn is pretty good as a dealmaking devil analogue...
srhp29: I was figuring this would be a "show cancelled" article. I watched the first episode and though it had potential but then I watched a couple more and realized it is the slowest moving show of all time.
Jim from Saint Paul: I care more if ABC is pleased. I have all the episodes on my DVR, yet I refuse to watch till the show gets greenlighted for a full season.
SteelDraco: Huh. That's... kind of a shame.(Spoilery discussion follows.)So far it's just really slow. Glacial, honestly. O'Quinn is pretty good as a dealmaking devil analogue - not as good as Mark Shephard, who plays a similar character on Supernatural (Crowley, the King of Hell). Still, he's a good actor and I'm curious to see where the show is going, I just wish it would hurry up about it. It's a new show with some expensive actors (Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams) so they can't be too slow to get to exciting bits before they get canceled. They're going for the American Horror Story feel, but they're being even slower about it.The trouble is that there have been what, a half dozen episodes now, and I feel like we're barely scratching the surface. So far we know about one murder in the basement, the seduction of the writer by his wife's hot assistant, and the death of the guy who wanted his wife back. Also there are some birds, for no apparent purpose. We also know that the husband of the protagonist couple is resistant to corruption, because he didn't betray his ethics to help out O'Quinn's character. Not that much interesting has happened. So far I'm most curious about the black girl who's stealing things. I'm actually of the opinion that she's a witch, and is using the items to HELP people - she's essentially stealing stuff and making protective charms out of them. That's why she steals things that are important to people, like the main character's necklace that was an heirloom. I think she's the one who is the most clued in about what's going on.
LesserEvil: This lies at the heart of all "long story arc" shows. Networks need to do something to reassure viewers that a show will have an opportunity, even if the ratings do not meet expectations, to wrap up all the loose ends.Because they do not do this, too many shows lose viewers before they even start airing - who wants to be invested in a show that gets canceled mid-season (or in between seasons with a cliffhanger)?
LesserEvil: If networks did guarantee a wrap-up (need not be a complete season, just an agreement to pay for 3-4 episodes that tidy up all the plot lines), they'd benefit on many levels - wrap up shows would have much better ratings, interest in the shows' online archives would increase, and they'd have a complete package to deliver on DVD/Blu-Ray (I'd be willing to bet unfinished shows don't get 5% of the sales as "finished" ones).
ZeroCorpse: I'd like to see a sitcom/drama called 666 Fifth Avenue./bonus points to anyone who knows what I'm talking about.

It shouldn't be.Then again, I suppose I'm not in the rarefied air of the Geek tab, so it might be./Fark Elitism, from a liter no less.
