I really want to see him and Macauly Culkin work together on a film where they contemplate killing Jonathan Lipnicki while playing with the bleached bones of David Faustino.

If done right, it doesn't have to be the least bit dark.

me too!

can't remember who right off hand, but an old guy died recently. i'd thought he died like 15 years ago! now...with old guys, that's a normal thought. edward is younger than i am. what happened a few years ago that makes me think he died?

He's the worst part of T2.

Hollywood made a mistake when they gave him a shot. Think how much better anything he had been in would have been if they used River Phoenix, instead.

Can we go back and trade Furlong for Phoenix?

Brad Renfro?

from edward's wikipedia:
"In 2005, Furlong played the lead in the fourth film in The Crow series, The Crow: Wicked Prayer, alongside David Boreanaz and Tara Reid."

wow, that must've been a HORRIBLE movie! i had no idea crow 4 even existed, but for david boreanaz to be the BEST part of a cast...wow...no wonder i never heard of it

after a quick wiki search...brad died in 2008. so yes, very close to the timeline in my mind...same general age bracket...same level of b-minus stardom...that's exactly what made me think edward died

And here I've spent the intervening years thinking that otherwise useless consumption of brainspace would never serve a purpose.

Close, but he's only the second worst thing about T2. The worst thing, as per usual for a James Cameron movie, is the dialogue; it's not easy to write natural-sounding dialogue, not everyone can do it, and holy shiat can James Cameron not do it. This screechy little bastard was pretty bad too, though, and I agree that he should have never been an actor. He isn't very good, for one thing, and he doesn't have what it takes mentally or emotionally to deal with the lifestyle; he was pretty emotionally farked up to begin with. River Phoenix was too old for Furlong's two best-known roles, but otherwise I agree that he would have been perfect for both.

Cameron's mistake is still our problem. He's been living off that movie for 20 years now. Save for the ending of American History X, every scene he's been in, his presence is a distraction.

I must be honest here.....I rather enjoyed Detroit Rock City.

Me too.

Dude, they make horror movies that start like that.

I also loved American History X and thought he did just fine in it.

Come at me bro.
