"Dad?"

All because Winona Ryder was (at hour 11:59) too "ill" to film (but not too "ill" to almost immediately begin shooting Edward Scissorhands with her then-lifemate J. Depp.)

Personally, I think she made the right choice. (And, apparently she didn't piss off Big Papa Coppola as she did his Dracula film as a mea culpa.)

I don't know, if you replace Sophia with Winona, GF III would have been up there with the first two. That's how bad Sophia was in that role. She managed to make a potential top 100 film completely forgettable and regrettable.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I think the screenplay was just too muddled and unfocused. It was a pure cynical money grab done because Coppola was drowning in debt.
It wasn't the worst known money grab in history and there were a few interesting elements (namely the Joey Zasa subplot) but I don't think anybody could have acted that screenplay into classic status.

Well let me clarify. If Winona had the role, I would assume we would have seen her titties.

It was mentioned before, but Tim Burton belongs on that list. But then you have to drop 2 metric tons on that table.

My answer: They already have the characters, stories of growth and redemption, plus huge budgets + technology. The biggest missing piece has always been the dialogue and acting. The answer is easily Quentin Tarantino.
Maybe his own acting and the amount of blood he likes is a detractor, but I stand by it.

It's owned by Disney and appeals to a specific subset of people. Someone would almost classify hardcore Star Wars fans as a subculture.

Therefor, they'll get Tim Burton to direct.
