oakleym82: AverageAmericanGuy: In general, cops will show a little leniency and will usually let you off with a warning if you're only in possession of a little bit of weed. Just be up front and honest with us. They appreciate it a lot./not a cop//free legal adviceThis.CSB: A buddy of mine was driving a commercial vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, which he did not realize is illegal. The park police (federal) pulled him over and detected the aroma of the ganj. The cop informed him that commercial vehicles were not permitted on the BW parkway, then asked him if he had been toking up. My buddy said yes. The cop asked if there was any pot or paraphernalia in the van. My buddy replied yes. The cop asked to see it, my buddy got it and handed it to him. The cop asked my buddy if he would like to avoid a pot charge, to which he obviously replied yes. The cop made him smash his bowl on the side of the street, kept the pot, and sent him on his way with no tickets.

uknowzit: GanjSmokr: chachi88: GanjSmokr: chachi88:It's going to come to a head very soon IMHO. Fed vs State. Which laws will prevail? The state laws voted in by the people or the federal laws purchased by companies big tobacco and special interests.
scottydoesntknow: Quick question for legal people (or internet lawyers): Do cops need probable cause to get a warrant issued, or does probable cause supercede a warrant and allow them to enter immediately? I know in cars they can just say they smell it and it's probable cause, but does that work on a property too?
