Please, please, please don't waste him in unfunny, interminable sketches. I have to say, they did a pretty good job of playing to Bruno Mars' strengths with the Pandora bit, although the other two sketches were completely forgettable. Daniel Craig, apart from the Bond 50 commercial parody, was pretty much wasted. The Mars Mission and that weird thing with him and Fred Armisen were the two most poorly conceived and executed ideas this so far this season.

Yeah, I hate when the squander the host's natural gifts and talents. I think they did well with Seth MacFarlane. His Lochte was awesome. He didn't even really seem like Lochte - but it didn't matter.

I never ever say this for anyone, but I'm going to say it: I kind of want to see the Vogelchecks this weekend. Maybe just a little.

It might be a blessing in disguise that he can't really fit into any of their recurring sketches.

/hope he and Seth do a "Really?!" together

I give it 3 swims.

Anyone else think this was about the old "Snick" lineup on Nickelodeon? There were some great shows on back then

Maybe SNL would be better if they gave all the good lines to a monkey.

And it still won't be funny.

While he was invited on the program last year, we're not expecting to see him on Letterman's couch again after the "Louie" episodes, which didn't portray the host in a particularly flattering light.

I didn't really think that his portrayal was very unflattering.

I thought Louis postponed his SNL hosting until March? Article made no mention of his announcement.

Letterman himself was barely portrayed at all. It was the execs that looked like shiatheads.

They've got to squeeze in a joke about the Bloomberg Boner. That's prime SNL material right there.

No, he postponed his comedy shows in NY earlier this week to March.

Ahh that makes sense. I was wondering why he would be expecting people to come to New York just for the taping of his SNL appearance (not that I wouldn't ponder it myself).

i can't stand that sketch or how 90% of the alt comedy scene nowadays is just shouting, "really? really. really? REALLY? reaaaaaallly? really? Really?" for 40 minutes and calling it a set.

also my shiathead coworkers who complain about everything and then say "really?" 50 times. "boss gave me fry machine. at lunch rush. again. really? really. really? I mean, really? Really? really?"

You're gonna complain about common denominators? Really?

Louie will do fine. He's a champ and that's short for champion.

The Seth McFarlane episode made me laugh more than any episodes in a while. Hopefully, I can stay conscious for this week.

The Mars Mission sketch was unbelievably bad.

I will dvr this, and probably find most of it unfunny, and be sad because i like Louie. I have not watched an episode of SNL for at least 10 or 15 years because it just wasn't funny then.
people tell me it's funny, but only ever mention a sketch or maybe 2. Don't have the patience to fast forward thru 80 minutes of crap and commercials to find something that might be amusing.

Wait. Are you telling me that SNL is just like every single sketch show in history? I am shocked. SHOCKED!

Having a 100% solid sketch show is impossible. Anyway, having Louie basically do stand-up for the monologue was a solid decision. I wonder who made it? Were previous standup comedian hosts doing standup or were they doing a regular monologue?

I'm just watching the show on DVR now. He's killing it right now.
