He'll keep getting this kind of treatment until he can finally, publicly, nut-up and admit his wrongdoing.

Hey, it was either Lance or bin Laden, and bin Laden was so 2011

It would take serious balls to admit your mistakes like that.

Shouldn't the British be boiling him instead ?

I'm getting so sick of this. If I knew how to organise a bike race, I would be looking at running the Armstrong races. Maybe get Pfizer or Glaxo as sponsors and use a slogan like "Be the best person you can be with the help of technology" There are enough disgraced athletes around here to run the bogan games. A few people think that athletes should be of high moral standards yet how much money does the WWF or whatever its called now take in from people who just don't care?

Huh, so like a Steroid Olympics where you know everyone is juicing in some way, you just want to see who is juicing most effectively.

I like it

If Mr. Armstrong cared about being widely beloved, perhaps he should have refrained from cheating.

2012-10-31 08:03:08 PM
They should cover him in Boy Scout emblems first.

Last I heard, he was down to his last $100 million, all earned from cheating. We all knew he was cheating, at least as the stories started and built up to a level that even the Tour and the US ADA couldn't ignore. And even then, they waited until he had retired before revealing what everybody knew.

FU Nike.

I'd love to ask the employees at my local sub-office of the USPS what they think about him. All the Lance posters are gone. It used to have five office employees, now it has four. The survivors are great, not at all what you think of when you think of stereotypical clock-punchers. They've told me I am paying too much for shipping (not recommending another service) and how to lower it by altering the box size or using flat rate vs. non-flat rate. They've taped parcels that looked a bit likely to fall apart, at no cost.

Now when I go there, there is a death pall lingering. Due to cost cuts, I think the remaining four workers will lose their jobs. I will be forced to go to the other, bigger post office here. It can cost up to $40 to park near there. No winning champions in sight, here.

I have never understood why a government entity like the USPS needed to sponsor a random athlete like Lance and his team for millions of dollars. What does that have to do with my mailing choices?

ElizaDoolittle: local sub-office of the USPS

USPS is on my shiatlist - I shipped a used shredder to my Dad last week and didn't get insurance because it was only worth 50 bucks, and they ran over the box with a truck. The box had a tire pattern on it. Then they delivered it.

Way to go, USPS. Instead of getting insurance next time, I'll just avoid you altogether.

Because We Deliver For YOU! © Or something. What is truly sad is that the foundation will most likely lose all donors. Everybody loses.

You can take comfort in knowing they had to replace a shredded tire.

Everyone hates the guy their girlfriend wants to screw. And when he's so freaking sterling, starting cancer survivor charities and being that clean cut all american nice guy, it's a hate you keep bottled up, repress forever and for always. But when it turns out he's NOT that clean, it can all come out.

And here we are.

Hey, any town that burned Russell Brand in effigy is a pretty goddamn cool town. A town I'd like to visit. Perhaps even spend my golden years there. They are haters on a scale never before seen in recorded history, and I would be honored to spend my days hating with them.

I'm sadder for you if you think I'm somehow naive for this. Look at Tiger Woods, look at Shoeless Joe Jackson, look at how John Lennon's "more popular than Jesus" comment touched off an inferno of hate in the south.

People burst with ecstasy when they get to tear a hero apart. It's a dozen times more ecstatic when they can feel like they're justified in doing it.

Keep your eye on Tim Tebow if you want to watch it happen again.

It's nothing special. It's Bonfire Night. They happen to like to dress up the guy as someone for a laugh. Mind you, I would like to be in on the discussion when choosing who to burn.

Their on my shiat list too.

I had them run over a Harmony remote I had shipped to get a button replaced. Tire marks across the box with the outline of the remote pressed into the cardboard.

Was pissed I lost $100 on that one.

...there's no incentive to do so now. He's not getting his championships back, he's no longer involved with Livestrong, and even if he does admit it, people are still gonna do this crap. Plus if he does admit it, the feds will be all over him for perjury charges. So, again, why admit it?

2012-11-01 09:43:21 AM
Nothing is "happening to him." He's not "down," nor is he "facing tough times" or "going through a rough patch." Everything that is happening to him now is a direct result of decisions he made.

I'll explain it. You would not know the sport is full of cheaters had the other ones not been singled out previously so we're just getting caught up. I don't mind if they have an amnesty now - but it wouldn't have sat right with me to have the guy who gained the most be the guy who got off scot-free. Especially since it appears he was the biggest cheater of them all. Oh, and how is it he hasn't been sucker-punched yet? Say what you will about the money and yellow shirts - don't care if he keeps them. But I'm a bit shocked he doesn't have a couple black eyes from the whole sending threatening text messages to women. Really Lance? Weak sauce my man. Weak sauce.
