I think sitting next to the Witch King of Angmar would probably suck.

I wonder if they'll play that when I fly back to the States in December... On the flights I took back in July, from LA to Auckland and Auckland to Perth, the Air New Zealand flight safety video starred cartoon versions of Melanie Lynskey and Ed O'Neill...

/Lynskey made some sense, being a Kiwi and all...
//but Al Bundy? On Air New Zealand?

There's at least a 2 hour layover in Minas Morgul.

Is that what they're calling LAX these days?

That was perfect. I certainly would have watched the entire thing, so it serves it purpose and humanizes that particular airline.

The elf chick was hot.

Yes, she was. There was also an Asian elf chick in one of the seats. After Liv Tyler & Cate Blanchette, then these two... I think I have a thing for elves.

And Gollum was funny. I wonder if Andy Sirkus did the motion capture for that between being the movie gollum and directing the second unit. They got Jackson into the role, too. Not bad air New Zealand. Should I ever get rich enough to fly down there and be an annoying tourist from America, you've got my money.

If I were flying coach to New Zealand on a 20 hour flight, I'd want to be a hobbit.

/fly you fools

Hopefully they'll fix the windows so they'll open and we won't have to rely on those pesky oxygen masks if Mittens starts up his own Airline service!

Wait- shouldn't the official airline of Middle Earth involve giant eagles?

Looks like it's mostly the same folks that were in this ad too.

I cannot for the life of me imagine a US Carrier doing anything like this.

It's a good idea. Changing them from time to time is even better. People will actually watch the video. I've seen the flight safety cartoon on British Airways so many times I wince at the very sight of it. Much better to keep it new and interesting.
