Oh, this thread again. Well, here you go:

This is like asking an abused wife whose broken bones and internal bleeding haven't healed yet since she started dating a new guy if she wants to break up with him and start dating the drunken abusive brother of the guy who used to beat her up .

My kids both still have insurance thanks to Obamacare, so yeah, they're doing better.

When Obama took office we were losing 800,000 jobs per month, and "help wanted" signs were nowhere to be found. Now there's quite a few "help wanted" signs around town and there have been for months now, so it's not just the Christmas rush.

And I'm pretty sure if Mitt Romney is elected, my son will be marching off to Iran or Syria, since he's a combat medic in the national guard.

2012-10-31 02:22:42 PM
...so vote Republican?

"Hey, these guys didn't completely fix those other guys' f*ckups...so let's give those other guys another crack at it!!"

No, I don't think so.

2012-10-31 02:25:09 PM
Even if that is true, I wouldn't be surprised. After all, a lot of those who have done the best under his presidency are campaigning heaviest against him.

2012-10-31 02:38:15 PM
Yes, because all of those groups were wealthy and comfortable up until the minute Obama took office.

Clearly, he is history's greatest monster.

2012-10-31 03:24:32 PM
My ex wife has a house (from the special mortgage program Obama initiated), bought a car with the cash for clunkers program and is going to college. She's doing pretty well. It helps that I am able to pay her support each and every month because my job is stable. The kids are doing pretty well, too. I have one in college on an academic scholarship and would have another one getting ready with the same exact scholarship if the tea party-led state legislature hadn't cut those funds. This is the longest they've been in a home with their mom and things are going pretty well, for the most part. My oldest is still covered by my insurance and my asthmatic children will never worry about being denied coverage by any insurance program I or their mom get in the future.

Better than 4 years ago, that's for damn sure.

2012-10-31 03:39:21 PM
Clearly, the smarter choice would be to vote FOR cancer.

2012-10-31 03:41:30 PM
Because ObamaCare means I'll continue to be covered by my parent's insurance regardless of if I'm a fulltime student or not, I'll be able to go to grad school part time, keep my current part time job, and pay for it entirely out of pocket by myself, no student loans required.

You best believe I'm still going to support him. I voted already.

2012-10-31 03:41:31 PM
Hey at least Obama uses lube.

Rmoney would NOT use lube.

2012-10-31 03:42:02 PM
Those groups fare the worst under most presidencies.

So yes.

2012-10-31 03:43:01 PM
The ONLY reason why I'm voting dem instead of green is Paul Ryan.

RMoney would make you pay for lube and then NOT USE IT!

The Politics Of Disappointment: Can President Obama hang onto the votes of minorities, single moms and young people? These are the same Americans who have fared the worst financially under his presidency

You forgot a word there, subby. As it turns out, some women are cool with making slightly less money if it means they aren't forced to have a wand shoved up their vagina.

2012-10-31 03:44:02 PM
So vote for the people who prevented Obama from helping you.

2012-10-31 03:44:52 PM

FTFA: Latinos have been doing so poorly under Obama's tepid recovery that, by some estimates, more are headed back to Mexico than coming here. Many voters who might make a difference in November could be in Michoacán or Oaxaca rather than Michigan or Ohio.

....based off of a USA Today report that combines immigration rates between TWO administrations.

So yes.

And they'd be even worse off under Rmoney.

Hey, you can't talk about Republican-voting women like that!

theteacher: The ONLY reason why I'm voting dem instead of green is Paul Ryan.

Voting dem instead of green because of the likelihood of Supreme Court appointments this term. I don't wan't a court of scalia-esque douches.

If you were mugged and injured, you wouldn't hire your mugger to perform your surgery because you thought the doctor was too slow.

As is faith.

2012-10-31 03:50:50 PM
Um... I don't see Romney appealing to this crowd.

He's called them names. He has no respect for their intelligence. He can't go more than 2 minutes without lying about something.

So Obama may not be popular. But he isn't being burned in effigy.

Not because of his policies.

Preach it, brother. Except the whole "voting green" thing. That's just retarded.

Minorities, single moms, and young people have fared the worst throughout every presidency.

If I'm hungry and cannot have tacos. I would never eat ground glass and turds.

Well you know...somehow people managed to survive the Great Depression without a bunch of social safety nets. They're strong people, they can take it. It'll force them to get back on their feet.

Somebody actually told me that recently.

2012-10-31 03:58:07 PM
You're right, Reuters. Why oh why didn't I vote McCain/Palin? If you just look at their measured approach to the issues since they lost the election, you see that their administration would hae done much better job or reversing the damage caused by the Bush administration.

Yeah, but they sure know how to party.

whidbey: These are the same Americans who have fared the worst under his presidency

Bingo. As a single mom, I know exactly what is responsible for anything in my life I don't like. In some cases it's me, in some cases it's bad luck, in some cases it's corporate policies, and in some cases it's certainly my ex.

But 1. I'm better off now than I was four years ago and 2. In any place I'm not, it would be stupid in the extreme for me to blame Obama. That's like the old belief that the king could control the crops and the weather. Come on now.

2012-10-31 04:03:39 PM
That's right, kids, youre doing sooooo bad under Obama. Why don't you do the smart thing and vote for someone who will do exactly what the last guy did to get us here in the first place? That'll surely work. Right?

2012-10-31 04:04:10 PM
Sure is a lot of kool-aid around here.

2012-10-31 04:05:11 PM
minorities, single moms, and young people would surely be better off under Brave Sir Romney

2012-10-31 04:06:25 PM
what is the problem with southern white males?

2012-10-31 04:06:55 PM
Wait?? So Romney is going to...HELP me? Republicans have policies that will help me more than Obama's have? I thought my success was not dependent on government? I thought that government doesn't create jobs? I thought that only I could get myself out of my financial situation? Which is it?

2012-10-31 04:09:24 PM

I'm better off socio-politically. I might not have the kind of money I want in my pocket, but I breathe a sigh of relief that the far right-wing Republican party is being somewhat held at bay--though not enough--and that there is an attitude that we can progress as a society.

Didn't feel that way under Bush, though I did make a lot more money. Which, incidentally, I'd still be doing if his policies hadn't helped to tank the economy.

2012-10-31 04:10:37 PM
I'm doing better then I was 4 years ago, and so is my town as evident with all the new stores and houses that keep popping up everywhere, plus I live in Michigan, and if a Michigander can see Obama's recovery then you know it's real recovery.

2012-10-31 04:13:38 PM
Plus they have to contend with Romney's pure, animal magnetism.

Please. If these groups end up voting Romney, they deserve everything coming to them in the next four years.

Old enough to know better: Plus they have to contend with Romney's pure, animal magnetism.

I don't think we can just say "Oh well," any more. We already took it up the butt for 8 years of Bush.

It's time we actively speak out against the outdated social conservative mindset.

With no quarter.

I believe it. Worse, I believe THEY believed it.

D135: minorities, single moms, and young people would surely be better off under Brave Sir Romney

Indeed. Time and again, history shows us these groups suffer disproportionately under rational, purposive public policy administrations, and fare best under laissez faire free market small government administrations.

And don't get me started on how well they do under plutocracies. There'd be no holding them back!

what about that?

Plutocrats believe in high taxes on business? A social safety net for the underprivileged? Funding organizations like Planned Parenthood?

I'd like to have what you're smoking, but I assure you mine's better quality. ;)
