The confusion on her face when the crowd erupts is priceless.

Begs the question then, what DO you do?

Interesting that she got laughed at though. I wonder if the local papers are going to cover this. A large number of Americans will usually vote for the name they recognize, but if they conflate that name with embarrassment the ties start to break. Bachmann had the benefit of a low profile after she withdrew from the primaries, but events like this can make the goofy shiat resurface in a hurry.

raerae1980: Is she ahead jor behind in the polls?

I think she has a slight edge on Graves, between 2 and 4 points, but this is the closest someone's been to taking her down since she set slimy foot in office. Ultimately it's incumbent on her to ruin her own chances; all of her challengers have been reasonable but fairly milquetoast, her spotlight presence seems to be what keeps people voting for her.

I know it's not her record because that's abysmal. It gets ridiculously downplayed in favor of wedge politics.

Crazy Eyes Bachmann abandons her debate with "Big Spending" Jim Graves to try her hand on the Minnesota comedy circuit

For those not in Minnesota, that is what her ads call her opponent. Not Jim Graves, "Big Spending" Jim Graves. So disrespectful. I'm surprised her wing-batty constituents haven't disowned her for being disrespectful to a man.

If independents didn't run in the last two elections - she would of already been gone. However - thanks to redistricting - her district is now even more deep red and its more difficult to vote her out.

She's been bat shiat crazy since she was in office. Hopefully her time on the national stage has shown people her true genus to the point she may lose a purely conservative gerrymandered district.

Most of the crazy shiat she says the people in her district never hear. But since she makes the national news now it's likely they heard every single crazy-ass thing she said.

It's telling that Graves' ads point out Bachmann's lack of accomplishments for her district, while Bachmann's ads are chock full of cartoonish hyperbole about him instead of refuting his attack. But her constituents seem okay with this for some unfathomable reason.

Large groups of concentrated stupid. You draw the right district lines and you'll have a majority of people who are scared enough of gays and democrats to vote for Bachmann.

Again this is a district that was gerrymandered to be forever red, the fact that Graves might have a chance says volumes about Bachmann. Racist, white, urbanites in the Twin Cities like her fark you darky rhetoric.

I just found out today that Boener is running unopposed. It's still a bit hard to get my head around it but with his high profile (as hated as he is outside his district), he is a cash cow and raises so much money he can contribute all of it to other Republican Candidates. Running against him would be an exercise in futility.

I'd still think there would have to be some chance, but the district is drawn in his favor, all red except a small dot of blue college town. You'd have to run as a Republican to have a chance at defeating him.

My parents live in her district and my dad's family were staunch Indiana Republicans. They HATE her and have ensured that neither of them will vote Republican ever again.

Sadly, they're only two votes.

Fixed. She has Blaine/Anoka which is what you get when you cross the sticks with the city - a sort of redneck suburbia, where there's a lot of dollars and very little sense. Many of my co-workers live in this area and routinely post fb statuses about how the muslim socialist is going to kill our jeorbs in favor of kenyan abortions, and such nonsense. From otherwise intelligent, reasonable people.

Gerrymandering has really gotten out of control. Every time the group in power changes, the news guys spend weeks/months redrawing the lines to benefit their own party, lather, rinse, repeat.

Don't know how to solve the problem, but it's gotta end. Non-partisan panel drawing up the district map using roads/barriers/rivers?
