Link to story on photos of people who were out on the beach contains this line: East Coast residents leisurely milling about outside and on the beach as the largest Atlantic storm of all time strikes. All photos taken today and throughout the weekend. was a weak Cat 1. If a Category 5 ever hit NYC, it would be one of the worst storms of all time. Just because Sandy has wide gale winds doesn't really mean much; the wind damage was about on a par with an average winter blizzard up there. All the devastation is coming from storm surge.

Long story short: f you guys hadn't flattened your dune lines decades ago (PDF warning), your damage would have been minimal. I'm not trying to hate or knock anyone - I'm sad you guys are suffering and my heart goes out to you - but if you don't learn from's definitely going to happen again one day.

A guy who does have to put up with Cat 3, 4, and 5's sometimes

Key word there is "largest." No one is claiming "strongest" This storm was a monster in scope of size, not strength. This wasn't Muhamamad Ali punching them in the gut, it was a really fat guy sitting on their face

Someone also did Gangnam Style on the beach in Virginia I think. Actually it was two guys to be precise.

There a video of that?

As the current owner/wearer of that mask, I have no idea how anyone could possibly jog in it.

You can see precisely nothing and the vinyl fumes are not pleasant. It's also disturbingly snug, but that could be because of my enormous head.
