This is just insane. We should not be bickering about politics at a time like this. The real discussion we should be having is whether or not we should rebuild Manhattan. I mean, those people chose to live in a place where this could happen. Look at it - all that flooding from just a category 1.

I hate myself for this, because New Yorkers were completely awesome to me in particular and New Orleans in general during Katrina.

A woman I never met before -- a friend of a friend -- literally gave me the keys to her Chelsea apartment and told me to stay as long as I wanted while she went and stayed with her girlfriend in Jersey.

Yet I can't help myself. It's too perfect.

I have observed that some "conservative" themed humour is an attempt to copy jokes originating either from "liberal" humourists or from nonpartisan sources, but with a failure to comprehend the actual source of the humour. I have observed this trend in other discussions. This may be a consequence of more traditional, "original" conservative-themed humour lacking actual subtlety and often being too blunt to be humourous.

There seems to be a bit of history revision going on here. When John McCain suspended his campaign in order to deal with the financial crisis, I thought he was being a bit of a drama queen. Not because the crisis wasn't a crisis, but because he seemed to have an overinflated opinion of the importance of his presence in Washington. But hey, he was taking his job seriously and I wasn't going to rag on that.

Except that it turned out to be a lie. He made a huge stink about cancelling his appearance on David Letterman's show, only to be caught by Letterman's cameras sitting in the make-up chair prepping for an interview with Katie Couric. The whole "rush back to DC" routine was just more of the Maverick's horse shiat.

Just as long as we don't follow up the inevitable success of this idea with a cheap, half-assed attempt at trying the same thing in L.A. that will completely ruin the franchise.

That was an abomination. A "Highlander 2"/"Godfather 3"-level cinematic hate crime. But, the story went that Russell was presented with two scripts and the studio would green light whichever one of the two he wanted. One was the sequel to "Escape from New York." The other was a sequel to "Big Trouble in Little China." I think all us dodged a huge bullet there, assuming that would have done to "Big Trouble in Little China" what "Escape from LA" did to its predecessor.

Anyone who had to prescience to preserve the modern classic that is "Lopan Style" gets an "A" in my book.

Weaver95: Diogenes: Weaver95: Nabb1: This is just insane. We should not be bickering about politics at a time like this. The real discussion we should be having is whether or not we should rebuild Manhattan. I mean, those people chose to live in a place where this could happen. Look at it - all that flooding from just a category 1.

I say we build a giant wall around New York City, then we could empty all our prisons into the city and let them all survive (or not!) inside.

I like it. Plus, Kurt Russel's career could use a boost.

ooo...we could put him in charge.

Honeslty, at this point, handling Sandy is the best possible campaigning he can do.

It shows the nation "Hey folks, this is how I handle a crisis. You think the other guy would do this? You know, the guy who wanted to gut FEMA?

sigdiamond2000: There's an eHow bookmark about how to make white (I'm assuming) wine. How much more incriminating do you need?

Actually that's "How to Make the Whites Womens Do Yo' Biddin'".

Quick! Cache that puppy!!

Nice screencap, but without something incriminating from your browser, it just seems to be lacking something to me.

You can tell I still use Wordperfect.

OH GOD THE SHAME

Just give my parents back their word processor when you're done.

No need, they successfully prayed it away from the RNC.

I find it deliciously ironic that same timing has illuminated Trump as a delusional hack yet again. For someone who is apparently into heavy real estate in NYC and AC, his priorities seem farked up.

But hey glad he extended his deadline, was worried there for a second.

If I remember correctly, there was a crisis 4 years ago in New York that led to the suspension of campaigning, and it led to a resounding Obama victory.
