palladiate: Is this the thread where we chastise libby libs for their hypocritical glee at Isaac hammering the RNC? Or is that a few down?

Oh yeah, like that was anything like this. That was more like a joke, that something interfered with the convention for one farking day.

But like the guy right below you said--you probably don't have a very good sense of perspective.

Ugh, you're talking about people who throw money into the faces of people afflicted with Parkinson's. People who scream from the audience "Let Them Die" when questions concerning the uninsured ill are brought up in GOP Debates. People who vocally boo armed servicemen who have defended our country because of who they love.

Is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between a Republican and a clinically diagnosed sociopath.

Nabb1: This is just insane. We should not be bickering about politics at a time like this. The real discussion we should be having is whether or not we should rebuild Manhattan. I mean, those people chose to live in a place where this could happen. Look at it - all that flooding from just a category 1.

I'll be honest - I often find you annoying at best. However, given the idiotic "they decided to live in a flood plain!" nonsense that you had to endure during and after Katrina, I'm gonna give you a big ol' THIS!!! on this occasion.

gilgigamesh: You can tell I still use Wordperfect.

OH GOD THE SHAME

WordPerfect is the shiznit. I have no idea how anyone can get any writing done with MSWord, possibly the shiatiest piece of software ever.

Now this is how trolling should be done.

i don't think it's trolling... it's more of a what's good for the goose is good for the gander logical argument

so, i don't think it's trolling. i think it's satire. satire is significantly above trolling. trolling is failed satire (and that's if it's good trolling).

I see your point, but I see it as trolling is meant to rage people out while satire is usually a humor type of thing. You take Nabb's comment and post it in the comments for a website that the average american visits, lets say your average regional newspaper's site. I'm pretty sure Ms. Dancing with the Stars and Mr. CSI: Sunglass Edition would overtly rail against the comment.

Once again we have an instance where the derpiest of the derps are trying to project Bush's faults onto Obama, as if they feel that if only they can find an equivalent Obama match for every one of Bush's failures, they will finally...have success? Or something. I don't get it because I can't just flip a switch and make myself a schizoid asshole.

In any event, in this case they are trying to make this Obama's Katrina. Of course, the Katrina debacle was entirely due to Bush and Brownie sitting on their asses and not reacting quickly or thoroughly. Given that we already know that Obama reacted very quickly, and very thoroughly (based on statements from NJ governor and GOP blow-up mascot Chris Christie), the equivalency is non-existent.

Which surely just enrages the teahadists even more...

Weaver95: this was one of Limbaugh's main talking points today - he was actually gleeful and happy that Obama had to call off his campaign schedule in order to do his job as President. Rush was happy over the death and destruction, seeing it as a good thing for the GOP in general, and Romney in particular.

ladies and gentlemen, I give you the face of the modern Republican party.

Why do you listen to Limbaugh. He's like a bad advertising campaign. if you pay attention to him -if only to mock him- you're just making him stronger. Just don't look. Just don't look.

I have observed that some "conservative" themed humour is an attempt to copy jokes originating either from "liberal" humourists or from nonpartisan sources, but with a failure to comprehend the actual source of the humour. I have observed this trend in other discussions. This may be a consequence of more traditional, "original" conservative-themed humour lacking actual subtlety and often being too blunt to be humourous.
