Sadly that seems to be the opinion of a lot of undecided voters too. There used to be a time when you didn't reward bratty whiny kids with candy. Now you let them have the White House.

I blame lack of understanding how the government works. Sure, everybody takes civics class in school when they're too young to use that knowledge. There should be a mandatory refresher course and/or exam for citizens approaching the age of 40. Tie it into drivers license renewal so you don't violate any voting rights.

...and these are things the GOP originally supported, too. It's worth noting that McCain and Palin supported cap and trade at the start of 2008. Romney is the godfather of Obamacare, etc.

So I can understand the low-information voter seeing Mitt Romney in the past couple of weeks and saying to themselves "He seems like a compassionate conservative who could get this country on track." It's incredibly dumb, but I understand it. 1) Oppose everything the President wants to do (especially jobs bills), even if it was your idea first

2) Primary out anyone who cooperates with the President/Democrats

3) Blame the President for being partisan and unable to pass jobs bills and other legislation

4) Suggest/admit that you're going to keep opposing even the most reasonable legislation and the only way you'll act in good faith is if your guy is elected President

This is exactly right.

I considered voting for Jill Stein -- but, ended up voting for President Obama. And, it wasn't because I thought I might turn the tide in my state and deliver its 16 electoral votes to the president; I'm not delusional.

But, I am certain that electing a Republican this year would set the most terrible precedent. If Romney is elected, it will show that Republicans can be obstinate, mule-headed assholes and they won't be punished for it; they'll be rewarded. It will show that the Republicans can hold the country hostage and the country will respond by paying the ransom.

As much as I like Jill Stein...and, as little as my individual vote matters, in the end I had to vote Obama. Any other vote would have told Republicans, "what you've done is okay." But, what Republicans have done is disastrous and despicable.

They shouldn't be rewarded for their assholery; they should be punished. If there's any justice in the world, that's what will happen.

In a perfect world, I would have cast my (early) vote for Jill Stein this morning. But I live in a swing state, so to Barack Obama it went.

Even though live in a blue state, I also cast my vote for Obama.

As fun as it would be to watch the butthurt if Obama loses the popular vote but wins the EC, I think the President will have an easier second term if he wins unequivocally.
