(Yahoo)   No, I'm pretty sure that would also involve velociraptors on surfboards armed with hand grenades; but yeah, this is pretty bad too   (news.yahoo.com) divider line 69

Uh, velociraptors with hand grenades would probably blow themselves up. Have you seen those arms?

Now, triceratops es with back-mounted self-targeting Gatling guns and given a huge dose of PCP......that, that is a worst case scenario.

Velociraptors would do better with grenades than T-Rex with his bitty arms.

I got my money on Ankylosaurus. That clubbed tail is lethal. plus his low center of gravity. but don't sleep on Stegosaurus. His armor plates can withstand a T. Rex assault and his spiked tail (with its own brain) is no joke.

Meh. My money is on those little rat-like tree shrews. They eventually figure out how to make nuclear weapons and orbital space stations.

Worst case isn't really in play yet. It's still a bit early for armed gangs to have turned Manhattan into a warzone as they murder each other and innocent non-combatants over the remaining food supplies.

We had to give up on getting T. Rexes to use grenades. They couldn't throw worth shiat.

brontosaurus and its bigger cousin diplodocus were the giants of my youth. I guess brachiosaurus is bigger than either of them, I don't know.

Disagree. Check the front of the canopy and the horizontal tab between the engine exhausts at the back and then compare these shots of an F-14 vs F-15. The close-up shot on the comic panel means you're seeing the wing root and not the swing-wing portion.

/holy crap I am sad

No, I realized I was wrong when I noticed the fins are over the engines. F-15's are between the tail fins. Intakes and front ends do look similar but the F-14 engines are aligned with the fins.

"full-moon-powered high tides"

Eh? The full moon is no more massive or appreciably closer than a waxing gibbous moon. Why would a full moon result in higher tides than any other stage? Or am I reading something TFA isn't actually saying?

Artistically closer to an F-14.
Notice the vertical stabs directly on top of the engines. The F-15 has the engines between the stabs.

I wondered that too. Does the shadow of the earth somehow lessen the gravitational pull of the moon?

At full or new moon, the tidal bulge induced by the moon is aligned with the one induced by the sun and you get a larger overall effect.
