Ever notice how Bill sort of slips into his support of O how he'd do it better? And he's right too.

Remember when the worst thing in the world was Mr. Clinton getting some illicit head?

Only cost us $140m to find that out.

Obama has done a lot of things that Clinton wasn't able to. I like Clinton and think he was a great president, but there's plenty of things where he didn't do "better".

I always thought Bill Clinton should have been appointed President for Life.

I never really liked his politics, his morals, values, economics or even his family.

But, the man was LUCKY.

Against his superior karma, terrorists, recessions, plagues, etc. had no chance.

Hey, if it keeps the Flip Flop King out of office, I'm all for it.

It's been a well kept secret, but I think Warren Harding still has the record.

Right, and let's overlook the loosening of various regulations that turned around and bit us in the ass years later, beit the Dept. of Mineral and Mining Services, where you had lobbyists literally sleeping with Department members, or the de-toothed SEC and FTC, which sowed the seeds for Wall Street shiatting the bed at the decade's close. All as a result of cooperating with Republicans in the House and Senate, but at least it was worth it since they treated him fairly and civilly during his time in office.

Glass-Steagall Act. So hard to forgive him for that.

2012-10-30 08:12:12 AM
Clinton - came in during internet boom. Luck. Helped repeal Glass-Steagall. Terrible. I am a Democrat and I like Bill as a person and like a lot of his political views but this looking back on the 90s as a golden age in America that came about because of him specificallly just seems silly to me. I'd take him over Romney, Bush 1 or 2 or Reagan any day for sure but he's had his turn. I think Obama is (with the major exception of civil liberties) doing as good a job as is possible in these circumstances.

So republicans suddenly love Clinton and hate GWB? I mean I guess in a world where evangelical christians have to pretend to be excited to vote for the Mormon over the Protestant, anything is possible.

Why subby? So Clinton can sign more deregulations and cause another recession? Sorry but your hero President was no hero.

It's funny how everyone goes on about the "internet bubble" but the growth of the technology sector during that bubble was huge and established the US as the market leader for almost twenty years. The bubble was the speculation in the stock market which was largely independent of the private investment that fueled the growth of start-ups that actually had a business model.

When will people learn? Work good, speculation bad. Investing good, gambling bad.

I do love the retroactive Republican respect for Clinton.

They attacked him, his wife, and occasionally his daughter. They investigated him until they found something, censured him, and tried to hold America hostage. They replaced him with an incompetent opposite, who tried to blame him for everything from 9/11 to economic troubles.

But now they claim to like and respect him, that he was a different kind of Democrat than Obama.

How? By being whiter?

The GOP has declared a "War on Women" by wanting them to pay for their own birth control.

Bill Clinton raped three women and cheated on his wife with two public affairs, but hey, it's those Republicans you have to watch out for.

One of the reasons I'm hoping Obama wins a second term is so he becomes the elder statesman of the Democratic Party. Clinton is kind of a scumbag.

Don't worry, you'll have your chance to put the Clintons back into the White House in 4 years.

Remember kids, if you let people do things that are extremely risky, its your fault when those risks explode.
In no way, whatsoever, is it their fault for doing the risky stuff in the first place.

Clinton killed a bill that was mostly dead anyhow. Even if it -was- mostly dead, he has to take responsibility for putting the final nail in.
But Bush has to take responsibility for the extremely lax banking regulation authority in place during his terms.

Final Responsibility, though, lies with the banks and their excessive, overwhelming greed and risk taking with money that wasn't theirs in the first place. It's impossible to forgive a 30:1 leverage.

You can't make Hilary a helpless cuckold in one instance, and cast her as a stone-cold battle axe in the other. I remember very well the routine misogyny cast Hilary Clinton's way during her years as First Lady. Don't think for a second one, single person on the right actually cared if she was mistreated by her husband, with all the epithets used on her still today.

Sexual assault and/or harrassment? Possibly, but considering Republicans obfuscated so many facts of Gennifer Flowers', Paula Jones' and others' testimony for cynical, political gain, none of these women got to have their say or get whatever due compensation to which they were entitled, because YOU DIDN'T F*CKING IMPEACH HIM FOR ANY OF THAT, YOU WENT AFTER THE INTERN WHO CONSENTED TO A SEX ACT, YOU DINGBATS.

Which to any moral person is way, way worse than lying us into a war with a sovereign country that posed no threat to us, and murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians as a result.

I liked how Bill sent the Dept of Justice & Reno into silicon valley and biatch slapped Microsoft around and loosen up that nerd money for future campaign donations.

Then there the whole Osama Bin Laden and Sudan thing. I think Bill was at a football game and couldn't take the call.

I just want you to know he asked me to express his regrets for not being able to be here, but you know, he's doing the job a president should be doing."

The Romney campaign's Jeep ad said he would do more to help the auto industry.

Clinton was the best Republican president we've had since Roosevelt.
