gopher321: You know who else threw another shrimp on the barbie?/or something//...///wut?
digistil: IDKW, but this headline template always makes me laugh. Thanks subs!!
Klopfer: FTA: "Scientists at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology said the moon's Procellarum basin, the dark part as seen from Earth many say resembles a "man in the moon," is what remains of the impact crater."Am I the only one who just doesn't see this "man in the moon"? I've looked at plenty of pictures of the moon but I never saw something resembling a face or a man.
phrawgh: So there a secret base on the moon full of kangaroos?
Mugato: Odd country to use as a size example. I have no idea how big Austria is. Don't they know you're supposed to compare things to US states?
TheVeryDeadIanMartin: Österreich ≠ AustralienAutriche ≠ Australie
phrawgh: The cratering patterns observed on the moon were formed during two distinct impacting episodes. The abundant small craters on the lunar highland surfaces were caused by meteor impacts around the time of the Fall or perhaps during Creation Week itself. The large impact basins and resultant maria were formed at the time of the Flood by a narrow, intense, swarm of meteoroids travelling on parallel paths. The meteoroids were likely comets or fragments of a large comet. Those which missed the earth or moon left the solar system on a very long-period orbit. This model explains the uniform distribution of craters on the highlands of the moon, the non-uniform distribution of lunar maria, and the near absence of impact features on the lunar maria. A specific pattern of cometary impacts on the earth and moon is predicted by this model providing direction for future research. Apart from the earth and moon, significant impacts would not have occurred on other bodies in the solar system at the time of the Flood. Therefore, evidence of a second episode of large, non-uniform impacts on other bodies in the solar system is not expected to be found.
TheVeryDeadIanMartin: Österreich ≠ Australien
timujin: Only tangentially related, but still the first thing that came to mind:[media.tumblr.com image 200x235]
Monkeyfark Ridiculous: TheVeryDeadIanMartin: Österreich ≠ AustralienCorrect. Emus are the Australian ones.
mutterfark: Klopfer: FTA: "Scientists at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology said the moon's Procellarum basin, the dark part as seen from Earth many say resembles a "man in the moon," is what remains of the impact crater."Am I the only one who just doesn't see this "man in the moon"? Same thing with the classic constellation shapes, I just don't see them. But I also can never see THE G*DD*MN SCHOONER!!!
BigBooper: A Austria/Australia joke, how original and fresh. Quick, someone post a Rick roll!/all you base are belong to us!
