stoli n coke: How long till Trump has his hand out for some of that FEMA cash to fix his casino?

He doesn't own any casinos in Atlantic City, he was given stock in Trump Entertainment Resorts, which he has no control over, for the use of his name and likeness. The bullshiat that surrounds this man is epic.

Ah man, is this a swg discussion? Man the Y-Wing, properly loaded, could hold off and engage an entire wing of tie-fighters. The A-wings and X-wings would be secondary.

The B-wings....

Am I too late for the X-Wing/TIE Fighter threadjack?

Hate those TIE Defenders, that mission where you fly wingman for Vader in an TIE Advanced against a bunch of TIE Defenders is soooo tedious.

Also, what the hell happened to Lucasarts? Did EA buy them when I wasn't looking or did they just decide they had made enough amazing games and should give making mediocre ones a try?

/No TIE Fighter remake?

Donald Trump is a shameless self promoter. The only thing he cares about is his next season of TV and ad sales. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The bottom line. That is all.

Thanks for clarifying. I just remember him filing bankruptcy.

I still like that a man who lost money running a business where people literally walked in off the street and handed him money, often getting nothing in return, was once considered a viable GOP presidential candidate.

mongbiohazard: He wanted to distract attention away from that news and he did. The sickest part about his plan is that it seems to have largely worked.

I guess for a certain very forgiving value of "worked".

Trump isn't actually as famous as he thinks he is, y'know, it's doubtful that his firing would have gotten more than the single national "eh, snerk" that it got anyway even had he done nothing whatsoever.

Just think of all that money Obama is denying the charitable organization (Planned Parenthood?) of his choice. It's like his own personal war on women.

Lots of people are talking about this donation garbage, hardly anyone is discussing the news being released on the same day - that the Trump building was firing him. I'd say it worked quite nicely for him.

Now now, he's really quite famous. He's pretty much famous for being famous at this point though. He's had a bunch of TV exposure with a show that revolved around him, and the only reason he can keep launching projects like that is because of his reputation as a businessman. His actual record is dismal, so he can't rely on that. So without that perception of him being a competent business man, he has no image to sell. That's why protecting that facade is so important to him. Important enough to embarrass himself with this ridiculous challenge he couldn't really give a crap about.

feckingmorons: So now there is an obligation to give your money to charity?

But I thought the whole Republican philosophy was that we don't need government to help us because the rich, out of the kindness of their own hearts, will give money to charity.

Farking hypocrites.

Lsherm: Bloody William: Lsherm: Oh, Donald Trump is a royal asshole. It's just your own frame of reference for suffering sounded, uh, a little too New York. Not quite at the level of complaining that the maid can't come over because the subway is closed, but close.

I'm sorry, I was just using the reference I had now. I can't really speak for Baltimore residents or New Jersey residents and what they're going through. Frankly, I'm amazed the power is still on. But it's more than "the subway is closed." Emergency orders to stay inside, flooding at the Battery is at least a foot over the recorded record... it's pretty amazing. Personally, at this moment, it's not too bad besides the whole "stay inside or you might die" thing. I'm just not expecting it to stay that way, based on the warnings.

My wife's in NY near Gramercy Park for work. She says it's awful, but manageable. She said the worst part so far has been hearing glass panels that are falling off the buildings hitting the street. Still, she's on the seventh floor of a building and hasn't been too put out, nor will she be if the power goes out. She can manage because our house in VA has been through this several times in the last decade and week long power outages and flooding are the norm.

I'm sure it's scary, but unless you're carrying cats on your shoulder and putting important paperwork into a waterproof container - you'll survive. I don't imagine NY would be without power for more than a day, tops. You guys also have the benefit of gravity fed water in a lot of your domiciles, so you luck out there, too.

Here's to hoping you aren't in a basement apartment :)

My gimp's shoulder is flanking through the park. As the water comes, the whip smacks about. Sandy has eminence as we shriek about. However, we try to forget about everything and marry the hills. Roger the plains and figure it out. Nothing is but a drowning shout. Four-teen times the taste of wasted waves...

Never remember eaten sands as it plays

Oh yeah

My anecdotal evidence isn't matching up with yours, I guess. People around me have mostly been talking about, y'know, the whole natural disaster thing. Given that both campaigns have also dropped the douchery for a moment to address it, I kinda figured it was fairly universal.

valar_morghulis: Are we talking Galaxies, JTL?

I haven't done any multiplayer since late in the XvT times. Or, more accurately, I don't think I did any XWA multiplayer.

valar_morghulis: If it was flown by a noob, yeah. But if someone specialized in that thing, man. I remember on Starsider at least two or three pilots (think one was named Anishor) really rocked the B-Wing.

I don't know why I never developed a love for the B-Wing. Maybe it was because I usually didn't enjoy B-Wing missions, so didn't fly it when I had a choice. Definitely hated going head-to-head against a B in a Y though.

GAT_00: It was very appreciated when I wanted kills.

Your attitude is the one I loved to see. Flying a Y-Wing against "superior" craft requires not making mistakes. Against an above-average pilot in a T/A or something, you might recover from a minor mistake but you'll have to be absolutely perfect and it's still a toss up. But often, pilots would think "Y-Wing = easy kill" and abandon all common sense when coming for me. In that case I usually got the kill just as they realized they should have kept their heads about them regardless of my craft.

The smarter ones had to be worn down. Flying defensively and waiting for them to get impatient could be tedious, but rewarding in the end.

one small post for man: /No TIE Fighter remake?
//Really Lucasarts?

I would give LucasArts ALL of my money if all they did was a straight-up modernization of TIE Fighter. All they need to do is update the grapics and make it runnable on modern systems. Don't worry about adding/subtracting/changing.

I shall be modestly entertained that some people think Donald Trump actually has that 5 million in the first place.

mongbiohazard: verbal_jizm: feckingmorons: So now there is an obligation to give your money to charity?

He was ready to do it for entirely AWing purposes. Why not donate it for actual humanitarian purposes? Sure, there's no obligation to, but he looks like a worthless human being if he doesn't

I hate to be the guy to have to point this out, but the whole reason Trump issued that "challenge" to President Obama was to distract from the news that Trump was being fired by Trump Place. The entire thing was one calculated move to distract from that fact, so he could keep his undeserved reputation as a business person. The fact is the only thing Trump is good at is self-promotion, not business, as this whole affair proves.

He wanted to distract attention away from that news and he did. The sickest part about his plan is that it seems to have largely worked.

Only because TRUMP keeps putting it back in the news. You'll notice that his first round didn't even garner any attention from either Obama or Romney...and he had to catch the wave of the killer hurricane to get any MORE headlines about his October Surprise that nobody cared enough about to make any comments about.

Trump said he'd release his tax records if Obama released his birth certificate and then refused when Obama did. Anyone making noises like they believe Trump's 5 million offer is legitimate is either certifiably insane or gullible as all get out.

The obvious noted, this thread actually made me wander off into the twitterverse in order to find out exactly what is was that Midler tweeted that made The DumbaldTM lose his shiat.

He looks grumpy! Well if that was on my head I'd be pissed too. It was so cute before the birds hatched & flew away!

Wow, that's pretty mild and mildly amusing and hardly deserving of those numerous bitter responses.

Trump head would probably explode if he read what Farkers think about him.

I'd be okay with that.

mikaloyd: valar_morghulis: feckingmorons: So now there is an obligation to give your money to charity?

When you flaunt your money as an easily expendable resource and use it to extort the President, people then come to regard you as a miserable, souless, cocksucking miser when you don't make good use of it.

so if he gives it to charity now he will be A OK again?

Bloody William: GAT_00: SilentStrider: GAT_00: 20% more speed isn't worth no hull integrity and half the lasers. I'll keep the X-Wing, thanks. Damn I hated the missions with those things.

I liked using the b-wing. more firepower and durability than an x-wing, better speed and maneuverability than the y-wing.

It was a biatch to keep up with TIEs though.

TIE Interceptor is the most powerful fighter in the galaxy in the hands of an experienced pilot. No shields, but made the A-Wing feel like a TIE Bomber.

add water to the theory that Star Wars was inspired by the Pacific theatre in WW2

There, now it's better.

There are fundraisers all the time where a person or an organizations says that they will match, dollar for dollar, the amount that is raised. It's an incentive for people to donate. Now, these people and organizations have enough money to cover the dollar for dollar thing for up to a certain level...and the fundraisers often don't reach that level. Does not paying that extra money make these individuals and organizations assholes?
