Jay Cutler: "We should be booed. I told (Brandon Marshall) when we went into the locker room we should be booed. We know it was a lousy performance. I was mad at our offense and my performance."

Anyway...

I was seriously starting to believe that the Chicago mob had gotten to the Bears and they were throwing the game in order for the mob to clean up on the gambling racket.

But a win's a win. 6-1, BABY! SUCK IT, THE REST OF THE NFC NORTH!

Maybe they told them in the 4th quarter that they only needed Carolina to cover - losing was unnecessary and, quite frankly, making it look fixed.

/helps that Carolina is run by a bunch of morons

If only Cutler played for the Giants, then all the mediocre performances turned close wins would (sees an angry NYer to the left, sees an angry NYer to the right) make him nothing like Eli. Nope, not at all.

Classic trap game. 14+ point spread at home against a terrible team. You practice how you play, and I bet this week's practices were taken less than seriously.

TRAP GAME

I can't tell anything from the clip provided. He very well could have been telling a nearby fan that his stock tip of the month was to sell short on the British Pound for all I know.

No, Jay Cutler actually just sucks that much. I love that he's more than happy to get in the face of his teammates when they fark up but when Jay farks up (which is a lot) he's a pussy. I'm convinced the offense and the coaches and everyone around Jay knows he's fragile so they just take it. If one of them were to ever call him out, he'd tank the whole team.

Was at the game, was windy as hell on the field - accuracy would've been a crapshoot for anyone. I'm positive that a number of the drops were related to last minute shifts of the ball midair - players are just too professional to blame the elements, especially in Chicago where the elements will almost always be a factor.

Did they play great? No. As a fan at the game, should you be booing your home team during the game? No. I honestly am growing to dislike the Soldier Field experience because there always seems to be some asshat who spends 45 minutes biatching about how worthless a player is, and then pushing them onto a pedestal whenever they make a play. Hell, I listened to some guy spend an entire game last season talking about how the Bears should've traded Tillman a long time ago because he was terrible - then he made an important stop and the guy was rattling off Pro Bowl predictions.

I'm a fan of the Chicago Bears, I am not a fan of the average Soldier Field attendee. And a special FARK YOU to the asshats who buy tickets just to sit inside the United Club the entire game. Fark. You.

Please highlight exactly where he became a 'pussy' when farking up. Most recently, when he was holding onto the ball too long, he looked to his QB coach and backup for direct feedback in resolving the problem. That was last game. Actually, let's make this brief, you can go fark yourself because you apparently don't know enough about what Jay does to call him a pussy. Quit being an emotional bandwagon pussy.

Other than subby simply whoring him/herself out for the lowest common denominator level greenlight. That part I get.

Bears O-line is awful. Put any future hall-o-fame QB back there and they'll be a sad shell of a man.

For example, Roberto Garza has been flagged for illegal motion 3 times in the last two games...and he's the Bears center. How the center gets caught for motion before the ball is before the ball is snapped is beyond me...much less 3 times over 8 quarters...played at home.

TFA - Cutler says they sucked and deserved be booed. Even tells his teammates to STFU and play better if they don't like it.

TFH - Cutler is too stupid to even know when he's being booed with Halloween reference. HA HA HA!

Let's also remember that the Soldier Field fans have to be told not to cheer loud before the Bears' offense snaps the ball. Seriously, how many time outs have the Bears had to call because of that?

They actually have to practice at Halas hall with crowd noise piped through the sound system. These fans have nothing to complain about.

That said, the Bears played like crap for three quarters.

Yep, they executed in bad weather quite poorly, and they readily admit that (minus the bad weather), but anyone who was at the game can tell you that there was indeed bad weather. Most of the ref calls were incoherent because of the excess mic noise from wind.

/Hochuli showing up on the FlexCam was awesome though

Don't understand Cutler hate. He's a bit pouty, and not very personal, but there's something refreshing about a guy that doesn't have his five bodyguards arrested even though they're clearly trying to kill him for 3 hours a week.

Dude, stuff like that happens ALL THE TIME in the NFL. Any person with a brain downplayed that issue. Tice was harping on him for something, he was pissed about not getting the first down, and he walked away for a minute or two to cool down. Then he went back to Tice and talked about the upcoming series. What's the big freaking deal?

You mean to tell me Tom Brady has never gone off on a coach before? Cause I've seen that happen more than once. A lot of ex-NFL players said that very scene happens a LOT more than people realize, and it's not a big deal. But because it's Jay Cutler, the media makes it a big deal, and meatball fans like you jump all over it.

I'm actually kind of shocked Jay Cutler was involved in a comeback win. 4th quarter TD, and two FG drives (one that Gould decided to miss at the start of the quarter.) And of course the Jennings pick-6 didn't hurt.

It was nice of the Panthers to not defend on the final FG drive. When you let Cutler and Marshall connect on the exact same passing play 4 times in a row, you're doing it wrong.

Any other starting QB in the leauge, and I mean ANY other starting QB in the leauge has that team up 3 TDs going INTO the 4th quarter. Its amazing how good that team is and how much he holds them back.

Its also amazing that he stopped getting sacked the second he stopped holding onto the ball 3+ seconds against an NFL pass rush.

I will admit he looked sharp in the 4th quarter, but most QBs will look sharp dumping the ball 4 yards at a time. Not THAT sharp, maybe, but sharp. He cannot play QB at this level.

/ Think what the score of that game would have been if they had Blaine Gabbert's first three quarters instead of Jay Cutler, and then tell me he is a good QB.

This is no different than they experience at any Chicagoland sporting event. You will hear the same conversation at Wrigley, Comiskey, United Center, and probably that place in the 'burbs where the Fire play. I'd wager you get this conversation at many stadiums around the world, not just Soldier Field.

Monday night was actually pretty good on that front. Maybe a decent chunk of the crowd coming from work rather than from 5 hours of tailgating helped.

The Football Outsiders people would tell us that the propensity to pimpslap bad teams (which the Bears did consistently until this week's game) is actually more predictive of a team being good than close wins against decent/good teams. Although they'd also tell us that the points they're scoring on defense is totally unsustainable (which, duh). So, uh, vote Packers?

throwing a wrench to the thread here, but I'm a California based Bears fan who's going to Soldier Field in December for the first time....for the GB/Bears game, no less...any advice on where to go for pre/post game related activities or at the stadium itself? Is there a "walk of fame" type deal? I've walked around the outside of the stadium during the summer, but don't know what's beyond the closed doors....any help?

I don't think there's much at the field, or at least not that I've noticed.

It's a noon start Sunday game (it could get flexed to NBC, but the current scheduled game there is SF @ New England, which is probably still going to be a viable matchup; it won't get flexed to the late game because CBS has the national late game that week). Noon Sunday starts significantly limit your pre-game options -- lots of places aren't going to be open early enough to make it worthwhile. If you're staying north of the river near Michigan Ave, Timothy O'Toole's opens early and runs buses to and from the game (or at least they used to), and they have a decent tap selection. This assumes you aren't renting a car and tailgating, of course.

Post-game, it really depends on what you're looking for.
