Or accept the fact that people don't like him because he is a bad QB. Just for example, Troy Polamalu has a cross sewn into his jersey above his name (google it). He is arguably just as devout, yet no hate. Why? Because he's a good player. I'm sure there are many many other players you could cite that are heavily religious and aren't criticised for it.

Polamalu and others don't reference their religion with every opportunity they have to speak to the press. Tebow does and it rubs people raw and makes some people (not all) irrational in their opinion of him. He's got a better starting record that Aikman and Manning. Many people believe he can become a really good quarterback just like them given time and experience - yet people never hated on Aikman and Manning en masse like they do on Tebow.

Except that Manning and Aikmen didn't play in a league where the DBs were handicapped and the QBs untouchable. The problem with both sanchez and tebow is that they can't find and hit the open receiver. These guys are consistently in the 50-55% competition percentage range...they need to be 60-65%.

I like Ryan a lot... but his decision to take tebow was really inexcusable. many special teams guys can do what tebow does. tebow as backup QB is like putting a baggage handler in the co-pilot's seat of a 747. Tebow could possibly play QB at san francisco and have a winning record because their offense is geared around the running game, but they wouldn't make the playoffs. signing tebow was insane and now theyre stuck with him for a while. i hope he was a hell of a bargain !

/ at least sanchez is a good fit for the NY fanbase. tebow? not.

Ironically I think Rex is under utilizing Tebow because Sanchez has played poorly.

If Sanchez had done enough to be secure in his position Tebow could be used in the sort of short yardage, goal line situations he is built for; but I think Rex is worried that Tebow scoring TDs would fatally wound Sanchez's confidence and lead to calls for Tebow as starter in the locker room, not just in the media.

As a Patriots fan I'm happy to see the Jets self destruct but I'm not writing an obituary yet.
If Rex just uses Tebow fully, and Sanchez doesn't melt because of that, then the Jets could quickly be back in contention in an AFC that has few dominant teams.
