Nothing really matters now except for GOTV efforts.

On election day, Mitt Romney will finally say "Elect me, you can't seriously vote for that damn ni-bong!"

Well if they have legs, I hope they know how to use them.

Lost Thought 00: Nothing really matters now except for GOTV efforts.

Yeah, really. It is as over as it will be. I was at a GOTV call bank the other day and we were scraping the bottom of the barrel for numbers. It is pretty much out of anyone's hands at this point. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Its like being in car on a snowy road going down a slight hill. You hit the brakes, the wheels lock and you feel like you are sliding faster than that you were rolling. Directly ahead is your neighbor's new car and there is nothing you can do but wait for the impact. Hopefully, damage will be minimal, maybe even you will hit a bare spot in the road, the tires will grab and car will stop....but more than likely you are going to crash and there is not a dang thing you can do except hope you mailed your last insurance payment on time.

I'm pretty sure he did that when he said we should shut down FEMA while a storm bears down on the East Coast.

Obama should run with that.

Yup. It's all about getting your folks out to the polls. Anybody who's an Undecided at this point is a goddamned moron and not worth the time to convince.

I've been watching this upcoming election with great interest.

Romney has apparently wiped out his polling deficit and is neck and neck with Obama thanks to the debates.

It's going to a very interesting election day!

Yes, but then Obama would be politicizing a tragedy when he should be managing FEMA to provide relief.

Um, what? That post might have been spot-on 3 weeks ago. The first debate of four did help Romney, but Obama/Biden won the next 3 and polling has once again shown increasing separation in Obama's favor.

I'm gonna go with Tammy Duckworth.

Not that it'll change anything, I just want to collect the whole set.

With Wall Street and electronic trading shut down because of Sandy, Romney may freak out at not being able to exploit the weather disaster.

Wait. That's shut down just for the US.

Nevermind.

I'm worried that the aftermath of hurricane Sandy will depress turnout enough in the Philadelphia area that Pennsylvania flips to Romney, winning him the election.

I don't know how likely that is. I'm not a psephologist.

You worry too much. Any aftermath that would depress turn out in the big cities would have as big an effect--if not worse--in the rural areas. But I think voter turnout should be fine. The election isn't for another eight days.

Yeah, but I'm also worried that the effort by the state to get voting set back up in Democratic-leaning areas will be lackluster compared to its effort in Republican-leaning areas.

Precisely. Of course, if he DOESN'T point that out then Romney will get to say how he supports additional funds for FEMA. FOX will repeat it ad infinitum, and the usual dumbasses will buy it.

I know. Guy found exactly one poll in his favor. Don't pay any attention to the other twenty, they're biased.
