I love how Conservatives have been against Romney from the start, but feel zero problem voting for him now that he's said fark off to them. They really hate black people that much.

Comment from TFA: As an Obama supporter and a family man, I should point out, that President Obama is the most pro family president in the history of this country. Under his leadership, many younger college grads without jobs have been forced to move in with their parents and grandparents; his economic policies have brought all our families closer.

I'm not so sure it's all about race. I remember back when they were getting Obamacare passed that the impression I got VIA THE MEDIA was that (a) the President was dropping the ball in the whole "leadership" role when it came to bipartisanship and (b) the Democrats were flaunting their supermajority.

Note my emphasis.

I'm afraid you are correct, otherwise they would have a clearer vision of Romney and what he promises, which is whatever you want.

I believe there's a very simple answer to that question:

He got obliterated by Joe Biden, and has been a non-factor since.

More importantly: how many (and which type of) American Catholics go out and vote?

That is a very good question. I'm on the Biden side of the Church and I am going to vote. I don't know if any pollsters have asked about that.

Well, his budget fell flat because people realized it was a piece of crap, and that was the only real reason to pick him.

Where's Paul Ryan? He's hiding under Romney's skirt, of course.

2012-10-29 11:39:16 AM
Ryan keeps the base in line. Romney works on the pickable moderates.

Who saw this coming?

2012-10-29 11:39:30 AM
Remember when the Romney campaign said they were going to reboot, and we were all like "As if Americans are so stupid they'll just forget all the other stupid stuff he just said." And now we realize just how dumb the American electorate is.

2012-10-29 11:39:46 AM
Are there people who really believe that if elected Romney will do anything but rubber stamp whatever legislation that regressive Republicans in the Congress will send him?

When your "policy wonk" gets taken for a ride by a guy with thirty years of policy experience, he tends to lose a bit of credibility.

He'll be running in just under 3 hours.

2012-10-29 11:40:39 AM
He's working on a new budget proposal that will be laughed out of the committee by fellow Republicans.

I have been waiting for the teams to realign yet again and swap whole swaths of planks like they have done a few times in the past. I was expecting Obama and his ever racing to the right to initiate this but now with Romney.... hmmm that is quite possible.

Well, I think it's starting to hurt him. A number of my relatives were constantly posting things about Romney (well, really mostly anti-Obama stuff, but they were posting "likes" about Romney here and there too) on Facebook, but lately they've been saying that they're either not voting or are now voting for Gary Johnson.

Yeah I'm gonna disagree. Recall Mitt the Etch-A-Sketch. Mitt in the primary had to go hard right in order to win. But that isn't going to win a general election and Romney and his campaign knew this. So he shook his Etch-A-Sketch, did a complete 180 and came out a centrist. Now in going to the center, he would lose a lot of his derp right base. They'd just stay home. Paul Ryan is what they cling to when they hold their nose and vote.

The GOP clearly has the superior campaign strategy and there is something to learn from this. With the hand they were dealt, to think the race is this close near election day is crazy. They took Romney hard right to win the primary, then all the way back to the center to fight the general. You have at least two completely different Romneys and no one has any farking clue which one will be POTUS. If it's the derp right one, well most people agree that's far too extreme. If it's the center one, who even knows what that means? He totally has a plan to replace Obamacare and fix the budget while lowering taxes and creating jobs. What that plan is no one knows and he's not telling but trust him. If you're a centrist, check out my record as governor in MA. If you're a far right winger, ignore that stuff, here's Paul Ryan!

All along Romney has been willing to say and do anything in order to be elected. He has taken multiple positions on topics and still holds multiple positions on topics. He has his cake and he's eating it too and he's doing it on video in front of the media and it's working. The American public doesn't care if you lie to them, doesn't care if you have no specific ideas and doesn't care if take multiple stances on a single topic.

LOL no. Honestly, any decent candidate would have blown Obama out of the water without trying. Mitt is simply the best of a pile of suck. The single thing that has made this campaign close is Obama farking up the Denver debate. That's it. It has nothing to do with the GOP's campaigning.

Oh boy, I've heard that one a lot myself, usually right after they call Obama every name they can think of.
I say go ahead, someone has to vote for a 3rd party, may as well be you.
They shut up at that point generally.

Uh, what? In what world do you live in. Obama killed Osama bin Laden, got major health care reform, turned the economy around from losing 800,000 jobs a month to gaining 100,000+ a month, beefed up security on our borders, ended one of the wars, improved foreign relations, increased rights for gays, created a plan to get out of Afghanistan by 2014, saved the auto industry, aided Libya's removal of Gaddafi at amazingly minimal cost including no troops on the ground and thus no American lives lost, expanded aid to college loans and negotiated a significant reduction in nuclear warheads with Russia to name a few.

How the fark do you run against that?
