As long as he will get attacked by a pack of dogs, I am okay with it.

So Vick will be like a son to Reid?

oh my god michael vick killed dogs. dogs are the same species as wolves. and people who eat cows are whining about vick. vick is awesome, he just needs to put some glue on his hands...

By what metric is Michael Vick "awesome"?

Call me crazy, but I don't think throwing a rookie behind a banged up O-line is really going to help the situation. Trust me, I know what its like to see a rookie QB run for his life behind a bad line...I'm a Browns fan.

Putting a person in a prison over an animal is farked up beyond belief. We are a completely self-consumed society - full of asshats who buy gourmet cookies and crap for frigging dogs while people starve in their communities.

Almost makes me chuckle to see the American People getting worked like a porn queen by the likes of the Koch Brothers and Bain Capital - bunch of stupid asses we have become.

The thing that gets me is that Vick had shown himself to be a dirtbag before the dogfighting thing. Remember the whole Ron Mexico fiasco? Also, and much more important for NFL fans, he's always been an overrated qb. Why should he be getting a second chance over Vince Young?

Would it be bad to just have Vick at slot receiver for a couple of series? He's definitely quick enough and has good enough foot work that it would be a legit threat that defenses would have to play cautiously.

2012-10-29 09:07:33 AM
Meh. Wonder who the next head coach will be?

Not Bowles, after the way that defense played yeaterday.

True, the injuries on the o-line don't help, but the lack of heart they showed yesterday was atrocious.

That said, Atlanta is REALLY freaking good.

If Vick had the O Line from the 1992-1995 Dallas Cowboys, he would still ignore it, run for his life and fumble the ball because he has no idea how a pocket functions in professional football.

2012-10-29 09:16:22 AM
Vick has most definitely "lost a step" and isn't the running threat that he once was--defenses no longer have to worry about using a shadow player against him to protect against his taking off. And he's never been the smartest quarterback in the world, even as a ten year vet he seems incapable of reading the defenses and switching plays at the line to take advantage of mismatches. But starting a brand new rookie in there because he's on a losing streak? That's just awful bad craziness. With all his many flaws, Vick is still the Eagles best chance to win.

I used to feel the same way. I knew a few friends who fought dogs, didn't really think it was a terrible thing. Then I went to a conference where the special agent in charge of the Vick investigation gave a presentation,

Michael Vick dragged a dog into the middle of a dirt road, doused it with gasoline and set it on fire. He condoned soaking a dog in water and, of the course of an hour, slowly electrocuting/torturing it to death.

He's a piece of shiat. And I'd feel the same way about anyone who did that to a cow.

Yeah, uh, THIS. I've never gotten the hype around Vick. If he was/is so awesome, then why aren't those his team records Ryan's been breaking? If "awesome" is being the best guy on a shiatty offense, then yeah I guess he's pretty damned awesome.

Regardless of your feelings about Vick, I don't think he is the biggest reason they are losing and benching him in a desperate gamble to keep Reid's job, well I guess good luck with that.

Glad to see common sense prevailing in this thread...

Until Reid fixes the offensive line, no other changes matter. Reid fired the wrong guy.

I am awed by the decision to make him the franchise QB a couple of years ago. We all knew once there was updated game footage of him his performance would regress.

If only they'd had an offensive line coordinator who had been successful for many years at the position...oh wait, they made that guy the defensive coordinator and fired him.

Nailed it. Reid's personal life is in shambles; he is no longer thinking clearly it is couldn't be more obvious.

No way in Hell we're beating NO next Monday. It wouldn't surprise me (even with all the personal issues Reid has had this year) if he was fired after the Saints game.

It's time Reid needs to get fired. He's doing everything possible to shift the blame and trying to save his job, but it's clear he needs to be shown the door yesterday and let someone with a clear mind start the rebuilding process

Lost Thought 00: It's time Reid needs to get fired. He's doing everything possible to shift the blame and trying to save his job, but it's clear he needs to be shown the door yesterday and let someone with a clear mind start the rebuilding process

Cue the person coming in claiming that, simply because Reid is the best coach the Eagles ever had, he's entitled to stay in the position until he dies or retires, because nothing bad is ever his fault, and everything good can only be attributed to him, because that Jim Johnson guy was nothing more than overrated hack, anyway. It doesn't matter that he has never even *tried* to improve his clock mgmt or figure out when to use TOs or the challenge flag; that he hired a DC that was *way* over his head because Andy wanted to prove that he was smarter than everyone else; that his first-draft-pick QB was the only offensive talent the team had for years, which included numerous times that Andy claimed people like James Thrash and Todd Pinkston were perfectly fine to have as the #1 and #2 receivers; or that ever since he became the Man With The Power, and forced out good personnel people like Tom Modrak, the overall talent level on the team has suffered every year (including what amounts to a virtual wasteland the last two drafts).

I, for one, have no clue of how to fix the eagles. At least none that doesn't start with "Sack Reid, sack Vick, get used to a few seasons of raw suckage instead of playoffs or almost playoffs, and rebuild from scratch".

Do you have any evidence at all to support any of the shiat you are posting here?

I just want Vick and Reid gone so I can watch the games with some enjoyment and cheer for the team instead of against him

And vick is washed up. He had 5 good games 2 years ago and has been average in the next 20+

He got chased down by a white DE yesterday. He's not even fast anymore

A good O-Line would go a long way to solving their offensive problems, but the defense didn't show up yesterday either.

I think Andy Reid is just out of gas. I don't hate the guy, and I'm sorry he's had such tragedy in his family life, but it's time for him to go. It's similar to the situation with Jeff Fisher and the Titans. Sometimes you just have to move on.

no shiat. i once went to an x-ray conference in Spokane, and the next door conference was about circus animal abuse. I slipped in and listened to a couple of speakers just to get the fark away from x-ray speakers, and was absolutely horrified. I've seen some of the most gruesome shiat ever done to the human body, and listening to that circus animal speaker and looking at his slides absolutely turned my stomach.

2012-10-29 11:38:18 AM
I've been calling for Andy Reid's dismissal since 2007. At this point, it's beyond obvious. I think everyone is on board.

He should be fired twice, actually. Once for awful coaching and awful playcalling, and a second time for awful personnel decisions he made as director of football operations or whatever bullshiat front office title he was given.

As far as Vick vs. Foles, it's been pointed out multiple times that Jesus Christ himself wouldn't stand a chance of succeeding behind the front line made up of nobodies and oldbodies.

2012-10-29 11:39:52 AM
furthermore, not to defend Vick.. but he was fighting pitbulls. I have no problem with these disgusting, vicious, violent, useless dogs being destroyed.

if he was fighting beagles against labs, yes, that would be awful.

The problem with building the team around an rb is their career span. He might only have 3 years left really.

Just to throw a little more gas on the fire, here are six college quarterbacks projected to go in the first and second rounds of the 2013 draft. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these guys is wearing an Eagles jersey next fall. Maybe not as a starter, but the Eagles will definitely be seeking the Quarterback of the Future(tm)

Geno Smith - West Virginia
Matt Barkley - Southern California
Tyler Wilson - Arkansas
*Tyler Bray - Tennessee
EJ Manuel - Florida State
*Logan Thomas - Virginia Tech

(* Bray and Thomas are underclassmen)
