I'm glad this storm is hitting today instead of last night. I would have been pissed if it hit last night and I lost power and missed The Amazing Race, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead and Homeland.

So was anyone else all gits and shiggles about this storm, but now that it's here you're kind of rethinking it as these pics and videos come in - 8 hours before the storm hits the shore (and about 2 hours before... high tide :( )

wxboy: Luthien's Tempest: Part of me hopes HU is closed tomorrow, too... Except I have a test Thursday in my dynamics class and the professor still hasn't given us the notes upon which that test is based. Damn miserable catch-22.

The answer is f.

Ha, that would be nice. His tests are basically just "what can you quote verbatim from the notes." I'm annoyed because I might have actually taken more notes if I had known that he wouldn't get us the slides until this close to the test, and then maybe not at all at this point...

Though f might be an answer with a couple of questions... Silly Coriolis.

God spoke to him, told him to go to Palm Beach for the week, and get a massage. It's all part of his plan.

You should know that when True Christianstm suffer tragedy and disaster, it's because God in His infinite love and mercy is testing them to temper them into finer instruments of God's will. When other people suffer tragedy and disaster, it's because God hates them and is pouring out his wrath upon unrepentant sinners.

Carn: Luthien's Tempest: marius2: FaygoMaster: marius2: While I hope you stay dry, I have to ask how the roads are looking in Nawfolk. I'm hoping they close ODU tomorrow as well, I have zero desire to take a Latin test....

Well, the street in front of my house (about 1-1/2 miles north of ODU) is a lake, but I haven't heard about Hampton Blvd or the midtown tunnel, which sounded as though it had been intermittently available. The reports I'm hearing is that downtown is a mess as it always is when it floods. I just received a student announcement from ODU stating that they were going to make a decision about the University's operational status later today.

Thanks, stay safe!

Luthien's Tempest:

Yeah, it didn't look so bad here in Hampton when I peaked out my window about 45 minutes ago, but it seems to be picking up now. I'm an idiot for not taking my dog out sooner. :/

Me too. My dog was giving me the look of "Hah, that's all it was?" until about half an hour ago when it changed to "Hey, I'm gonna make sure that everything is safe under the table."

My dog is not going to be amused when I go to take him out. Doesn't help that he hates his rain jacket anyway, lol. (I torture my dog, clearly).

Part of me hopes HU is closed tomorrow, too... Except I have a test Thursday in my dynamics class and the professor still hasn't given us the notes upon which that test is based. Damn miserable catch-22.

I managed to get mine out to go pee with lots of encouragement and standing right next to her the whole time. It only took three attempts (to get her to go outside). She is not a fan of the rain.

Christie has already used the word "stupid" about 3000 times in the past couple of days. Including, while answering a reporter's question about people doing unsafe things with electricity and gas, said "Instead of listing everything people shouldn't do, let's just put it this way - if it looks stupid, it is stupid, so don't do stupid things"
