All I know is that I'm glad that I won't have to answer the door 1000 times on Wednesday to give shiat away to other people's crotchfruit. Losing poewr and water is worth that relief.

Because cloud cover equates to wind speed.

So my idiot co worker came up with this today; "only New York people are worried! And all the news outlets are there so they are screaming that the sky is falling! What about the rest of us!?"

I had to walk away from that.

We won't feel sorry for you when you eat all that candy.

Stay safe East Coasters. I'm hoping I won't wake up to bits of Canadia floating in Puget Sound.

New NASA photo shows how massive Frankenstorm Sandy is

How massive Frankenstorm Sandy is...? Doing what? Buying shoes? Visiting relatives? What is she doing?

2012-10-28 07:50:13 PM
i got complacent this year and karma drove Issac here. i won't ask what was going on there. for the sake of those living there i hope the storm isn't even close to the hype. and that y'all keep your power on.

2012-10-28 07:53:57 PM
That is an awesome video watching that storm explode like that. If a tree should happen to spear my truck and total it, I won't be sad...do me Sandy do me..do me hard i like it rough

Not hardly. We don't want to be antisocial seeing as we're new to the neighborhood. Much better to catch a break from mother nature.

It's really more of a nor'easter than hurricane.

that satellite progression looked pretty menacing towards the end there.

It's as massively big as any other massively big storm.

"If you had any doubts about the scale of frankenstorm Sandy, check out NASA's latest image to see its size compared to the entire planet."

Or you could just look at Google Earth with the cloud and radar layers turned on.

It's FRONKEN-storm!

2012-10-28 08:11:20 PM
I'm having a hard time calibrating my East Coast Panic meter.

After SNOWMAGEDDON, STORMAPALOOZA and SNOWPACALYPSE I hear "Frankenstorm" and think "So, snowing again?"

Sorry, I have no idea what actually qualifies as "dangerous weather" anymore. Are they always being "The Boy Who Cried SNOW-WOLF!!!!" or have every one of these snow-driven panic-freakouts actually been bad?

what blows my mind is that there is a connected line of clouds that reaches all the way to africa.

Just stopped viewing the web cam at Times Square a few moments ago.

No one there seems to care.

It appears to be business as usual.

Either
. people in Times Square don't believe the media or
. the media has just hyped it up too often or
. the web cam is just running stock footage

Funny comments:

Why do they give hurricanes such timid names. Sandy? No one will be scared of a Sandy. Maybe "The butcher of Cidaris".

That thing seems bigger than Spain! Granted, lots of things are bigger than Spain.

NOAA really dropped the ball on this one. A name starting with an "s" that such an expected impact should have been named Scrambles.

Judging by your "Oh GOD!!! I have to hand out CANDY!1!!", I'm betting the neighborhood already has an idea...

You know you can turn your porch light off and ignore them, right? Or post A SEX OFFENDER LIVES HERE on your door. That should take care of the problem nicely.

Just got back from 3 days in Orlando, Florida. Sandy is one big over-hyped piece of sh#t. It was just cloudy all day!!!! Go play some golf. Links won't be crowed for the next few days!!!

Not being fond of teenagers driving around in cars and not even bothering to dress in a costume and demanding candy is anti-social?
