if we get a storm surge bad enough to reach me here in Harrisburg, THEN i'll worry. until then, this is merely just another rainy day.

I'm on high ground on the 2nd floor in Queens. I'm good. We have supplies. I'm a little concerned about my work though.

Few useful links for all of us NYers.

The storm's gonna go inland and stall. I hope you're not near any rivers.

nope! high ground, in fact. then again, most of central Pa is either high ground or flood plain. you really don't have much of a choice. Harrisburg might flood out though. its happened before but it takes a big hell storm + lots of melting snow to do it.

Not the worst idea, even if it proves unnecessary.

I've heard that, also.
The odds of this impeding the election/voting are pretty big.

Flooding might happen near the Susquehanna's banks, so the Harrisburg and Wormleysburg banks might suffer, but something widespriead is highly unlikely.

Oh, and City Island might go underwater too.

I'm sure Mayor Thompson will find a way to blame beavers.

Yup, unfortunately it is a true no win situation if the place doesn't get leveled. People just can't seem to get the concept of prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Niiiiiiice

In all seriousness, stay safe farkers. I've got a really bad feeling about this.

Luckily I'm in the middle of nowhere, and one of the few spots in Canada that is expected to be safe from everything that's going on

I'm going to laugh at all the idiots here on LI buying supplies when this "superstorm" does as much "damage" as Irene did.

Jesus christ you'd think both storms were Katrina: Part 2 & 3.

My parents have to evacuate because they are in Zone A. I don't really think people are idiots for being overly cautious.

I've had this fark account since I was 21 years old, five years ago. I've lived in a few states since then, and just a few months ago I moved to Long Island. If you've ever heard New Yorkers are a**holes, you haven't seen them in panic mode at the supermarket... I had a woman knock on my car window to yell at me for how long I was taking to leave my parking spot.
