....plus, two Mythbusters.

I would like to destroy Kari mid-air with my slowball

As a Tigers fan, I call fake.

/Ugh

I'm always impressed by feats of training and discipline, but I was too embarrassed by the other nine people to watch the whole thing.

i don't know if it was fake or not, i'm not a professional online video debunker. amazing what you can get a college degree in these days.

i did experience great joy and amusement in watch that clip. that was much fun.

Terrified Asexual Forcemeat: I'm always impressed by feats of training and discipline, but I was too embarrassed by the other nine people to watch the whole thing.

?? the children in the video? they can't see you, it's alright. go ahead and watch! life is too short to not have fun.

1nsanilicious: Another something fake put on the Internet.

It seems strange for the Mythbusters to engage in viral video chicanery, given what they do for a living. If this isn't real, I almost feel like it puts a weird paling on their careers.

He has nothing on Randy Johnson

Is this really THAT impressive? He's not that far away from anything that they toss, and it's all pretty heavy/slow-moving stuff. The only part that screamed fake to me was when the ball went through the pizza box.

Summoner101: He has nothing on Randy Johnson

Game time classic!

People from the myth busters should do more of these kinda things where they are set up to appear real but actually are not that will help with the credibility of the show.

OK but can he do it with a puck?

Came here for this:

Animated gif of pitcher annihilating something in mid-air during a game- - but Fark's file size limit won't let me post it.

Computer said no.

I'm really kind of amazed Tori and Kari agreed to do this. You can tell it's fake/viral by how they react. OHHHHHHHH OH MY GAWWWWWWWWWD it's exactly the same every time somebody fake-reacts to something they knew was going to happen.

It would be impressive if it were real. Hitting a moving object like that is much different than hitting a stationary target. And you're supposed to believe he hit them all on the first try.

2012-10-28 10:11:23 AM
Lots of start/stops in the video. Still better than I could do.

If you stick around, you can watch him eliminate a tiger

I should've prefaced "he's not..." with "I know it's fake, but..." Believing that an elite MLB pitcher can hit those slow-moving objects from around 15-20 feet away isn't as implausible as many of these videos are. What makes it worse, like previous posters have mentioned, is that the Mythbusters people are involved and the absolutely stupid pizza-box trick. They should be above that sort of thing.

I hate when it's not just fake, but also loaded with bad acting.

What I took away from this is that Kari always has a piñata with her.

Big Ramifications: Animated gif of pitcher annihilating something in mid-air during a game-

I was at a game where Candy Maldonado beaned a bird. Whenever he'd be up to bat after that, the crowd would do bird calls.

Pure win. I love a good crowd vs. sportsman tête-à-tête.

// too one-way to be called tête-à-tête but I wanted to say tête-à-tête
tête-à-tête!
tête-à-tête

Fake, over-enthusiastic hollering pretending to be cheering ruins any video. Fact.

2012-10-28 11:46:05 AM
If only there were some TV show where they could experiment and prove or disprove whether this is fake...

2012-10-28 11:54:19 AM
I'd call fake just because he isn't exactly winding up and really throwing hard. Granted he's likely throwing harder than I can, I doubt it's enough to punch a hole through a pizza box and pizza like that.

2012-10-28 12:03:16 PM
Never did figure out what was the first thing they threw in the air....
/oh well

2012-10-28 12:13:39 PM
I'd like to see a legit re-enactment of these [fake] stunts. Just do it on a regulation diamond, w/ a mound, and have the watermelon/pizza/box/whatever be set up where the mitt usually is, just to see if it's actually possible to penetrate those items. You'd likely have to brace them, since a fastball isn't a bullet, but I'd believe a 100 mph baseball could do some penetrative damage. Probably won't be able to get a release for a commodity like Cain to throw full-heat in a non-game situation, but a sup'd up pitching machine could work.

His slow pitch is probably faster than most people can manage. Why play an ace when a deuce will do?

I think Kari had the hots for him......

Soda bottle, at least that's what they call for in the first couple of seconds.

Why the hate for pizza? WHY!?!?!?

2012-10-28 01:22:56 PM
That was so obviously fake, that I was expected a puppy or baby to be tossed up next.

You don't? I always have a pinata within arms reach.

2012-10-28 01:54:59 PM
Why would the pizza be in the exact same spot after being tossed in the air? When they opened the box the hole in the pizza was still lined up with the hole in the box. Plus none of the items reacted to being hit. The box should have spun a little the piñata should have moved etc.

I am a huge Giants and Matt Cain fan and that was

Awful

The ridiculous overreaction to every throw is a bit of a giveaway.

Also makes you want to boot that dude in the nuts.

Can we put Kari there too and see if I can penetrate her?

2012-10-28 07:49:52 PM
I would leave Kari frustrated and unfulfilled, but I would need a nap.

2012-10-28 08:46:07 PM
I have a feeling that the reactions are less faked, more scripted due to having to do the takes more than once to get a successful result.
