How about you spend that on affordable housing and local, organic food for people?

Thank you.

national defence spending rose by 13%.

Hey, that's what we need to get out of this slump -- another war! Why hasn't anyone ever thought of that before? Do there happen to be any antagonistic countries in the Middle East that might make good opponents?

/Oh yeah, that one. Hmm, that one too. That other one? Sure, why not.

2012-10-27 07:50:39 PM
I have to pay for calls that come in on my phone. This election year I have been getting 20+ calls per day from political parties. This is literally the most number of bullshiat calls I have ever gotten in my entire life. I had to disconnect my answering machine because they were costing me about $100 a month in phone bills.

Can I send a bill to these farking jackholes for calling me so much?

Ah yes. Just imagine all caviar, champagne, and snuff porn that money could have bought for the oligarchs that funded these super PACs.

Since spending bills have to go through Congress, then I guess you could say the Congressional Republicans want to help Obama get re-elected.

The best part is that a very small number of people have given a very large sum of money to Romney, and when he loses it will all be for naught. It will only demonstrate how foolish they are with their money.

Freely give a fark-ton of your money so ideologues can get into office and fark things up for most people = Good.

Have your massive income taxed at a slightly higher percentage for the good of humanity = Worst. Thing. Ever.

Finally, real evidence of what I have always suspected. We have finally discovered America's one inexhaustible national resource that can feed on itself forever and never run dry....

....and it's a giant flowing river of bullshiat, running through every last state, district, and city in the whole country.

The point I'm trying to make is that realistically this money would have sat in their accounts gathering dust, rather than creating jobs. This brings me to a very difficult crossroad in my life, because I've always been against the citizens united ruling. I fear my head may implode.

I hope you're right, Subby, I hope you're right.

It would be cool if unlimited money votes for the super-rich were counterproductive and all that spending was actually undermining the Republican, Conservative and Plutocratic camps.

It would be really cool, Shakespearean in fact:

'Tis the very sport to see, the engineer, hoist with his own petard."

Baldrick (actor Tony Robinson) explained that saying in one of the TV shows he did but I already knew the explanation. Nonetheless, the visual aids were welcome. I like him. He reads a lot of Terry Pratchett novels on talking books. He's cool.

2012-10-27 08:23:40 PM
it's the only time the rich as fark people actually spend their money instead of just sitting on it saying "we need more"

Naw, he had it right. Wlhelm Shiney was a pioneer in aquatic camouflage. Probably could have called it a new "Shiney aircraft carrier" with that capital "S" though.

Heres to you, Mr Shiney, designer of camouflaged aircraft carriers!

1) Voter registration lists are a matter of public record. I have access to the name, address, age, party affiliation, gender, voting history, and other data about every registered voter living in my city.
2) You DO NOT have to provide a phone number when you register to vote.

Based on these two things, I see an easy solution to your problem.

I hate seeing people respond to negative, completely f--king BS ads. To the point where they simply refuse to listen to reason, even if three months ago they would have. Because IN THEIR GUT, which has more nerve endings than their brain, they KNOW THEY'RE RIGHT. Of course.

Thankfully I am now out of the persuade idiots game and just into the helping disenfranchised folks find their polling place / get a ride / get an absentee ballot game.

I will still be really f--king glad when November 7th rolls around.

/not making election bank
//I could, and have, but I like my soul just a bit too much
