Because FOx News is such a shining beacon of neutrality, right tardmitter?

2012-10-27 11:36:25 AM
This is one of the dumbest submission headlines that I've ever read. Ever.

Nice try, you almost convinced us.

2012-10-27 11:58:12 AM
Seriously? I knew farkers were largely delusional, but not seeing that MSNBC is very heavily left leaning in the same way that Fox is heavily right leaning? That's pretty sad / naive.

News Busters?

Pot, meet Kettle.

Its their business model. It makes them money. More power to them.

/I view MSNBC and Fox News as "news entertainment" (coined from Vince McMahon's "Sports Entertainment"), not news

And I'll bet it goes green

Iwish this country had a legitimate news network.

Someone should break that to Joe Scarborough.

From that Faux Spews affiliate Newsbusters? Yeah, right.

Dammit, why can't we smart-vote posts while the link is still little green?

And stuff like this baffles me a bit. Why are the Fox-News faithful upset about MSNBC? Everyone gets their nice, safe, cushy echo chamber when they need it and everyone's happy.

2012-10-27 05:12:57 PM
Does Joe Scarborough no longer have their entire morning show every weekday?

You're absolutely right.

MSNBC is far more biased toward the left than Fox toward the right. CNN and Fox are more comparable.

2012-10-27 05:21:14 PM
So what if it is?

God people are so farking scared of liberals.

2012-10-27 05:21:47 PM
Not clicking that link

2012-10-27 05:21:47 PM
"Life In Prison" shows are a liberal cause now?

2012-10-27 05:22:02 PM
Not gonna click it.

2012-10-27 05:22:16 PM
Wow, a gay news host telling people that he think they shouldn't vote to ban gay marriage?

BAWWWWWWWWWWW, WHY DON'T PEOPLE RESPECT MY INVISIBLE FRIENDS' WISH TO KEEP GAY PEOPLE AS SECOND CLASS CITIZENS?!?!?

2012-10-27 05:23:12 PM
HA!1 Funny for a variety of reasons.

2012-10-27 05:23:23 PM
Oh I guess that should make all the viewers reconsider watching then.

2012-10-27 05:23:52 PM
I thought they were unbiased! You've opened my eyes and this changes everything! Rest assured Newsbusters, I'll be voting straight-ticket Republican now!

2012-10-27 05:24:09 PM
So, basically, NB is complaining that the center - and, let's be crystal farking clear here, Democrats are centrists - are being catered to by one news network? I can't bring myself to complain about this - except that, as usual, the left has no representation anywhere - when the right is catered to by the entire rest of the mass media.

2012-10-27 05:25:00 PM
Yeah, remember how they celebrated Obama's triumph in the first debate?

I usually get a rage boner for the headlines that are like "Not witty tagline: Insert the article's headline here" but yeah, I just feel dumber for reading this and I fear for what would happen if I laid eyes on the actual article.

FOXNEWS - Outlet for insanity.

This should be posted in any thread involving a company owned by Brent Bozell who knows alot about "causes".

In 1999, the PTC launched a campaign against the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), complaining that their SmackDown! program contained levels of sexuality and violence unbecoming prime time programming. In the campaign, Bozell said that four children had been killed by peers emulating professional wrestling moves learned from the program. With these allegations, Bozell and various PTC members began meeting with representatives of the advertising departments of various companies that advertised on SmackDown! to persuade them to withdraw sponsorship. The PTC also suggested that between 30 and 40 advertisers had pulled their commercials from WWF programming, an assertion that was not true.

On November 9, 2000, the WWF filed a lawsuit against the PTC in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that the PTC's statements were false and constituted defamation. The WWF also filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the PTC for using clips from WWF programs in their promotional videos. The PTC filed for dismissal of the suit, but on May 24, 2001, U.S. district court Judge Denny Chin denied the PTC's motion on the basis that the WWF's lawsuit had merit. The PTC and the WWF settled out of court and, as part of the settlement agreement, the PTC paid the WWF $3.5 million USD and Bozell issued a public apology, stating that it was wrong to blame the World Wrestling Federation or any of its programs for the deaths of children and that the original statements had been based on what was later found to be false information designed by people close to the Lionel Tate case to blame the death of Tiffany Eunick on the WWF

MSNBC is centrist. Because only Trotsky can be considered slightly to the left. If you think otherwise, you are racist.

Geez people, Billo and I are getting tired of having to repeat this all the time. FOXNews has higher ratings and more viewers than MSNBC and CNN put together, ergo, FOXNews is fair and balanced while the other news networks are watched by people who have no, none, zero interest in hearing the truth. It's so simple.

Well, they have to have some excuse for losing. And it certainly can't be that there's anything wrong with their ideology.

intelligent comment below: I should add all you needed to do was watch the post debate coverage. Fox did everything to say how great Romney did and how awful Obama was, in all the debates. While MSNBC had no problems admitting Obama was horrible in the first debate.

True, but it's hard to put the same commentators on air that run the "opinion" side of things and say with a straight face that it's unbiased.

Roberts concluded by telling his audience (emphasis mine), "in Minnesota you need to vote no and the other three states you need to vote yes." This shameful example of activism further demonstrates that MSNBC is no longer an actual news network but instead a 24-hour outlet for promoting liberal causes, and in the case of Thomas Roberts, actually telling its viewers how they should vote.

OK, for those who didn't read TFA, or are taking the "Of COURSE they're biased!" approach, this statement, and the headline are completely 100% misleading.

Yes, they are telling you how to vote, but they aren't doing anything news agencies haven't done for years. Sometimes you need to vote 'No' on a law to mean 'Yes', or 'Yes' to mean 'No', and news agencies usually go on the air and explain how you need to vote to get the result you want. All MSNBC did here is assume that the voters wanted to vote for rights for Gay people. They could have changed it to this(The bold is my addition):

"If you want Gay marriage rights, then in Minnesota you need to vote no and the other three states you need to vote yes.".

In other words, Newsbusters is just as full of shiat today as WND with their "Obama drove Gallagher's out of business!" and "OMG! Obama had a nose job!" stories. This is not a "breach of journalistic ethics", not an example of the "left leaning media at work", or anything like that. They know how their viewers are going to stand on this particular issue, and they are telling you how to vote on the laws to get those results, not as some form of "conditioning".

2012-10-27 05:36:57 PM
Fox News is running a one-hour special today called "Benghazi: New Revelations." They're obviously being "fair" and "balanced," and not jumping all over an investigation (that is still months from conclusion) for the sake of tipping a scale a certain direction.

They even pointed out that Biden's demeanor would hurt him among some people, even though he had completely wiped the floor with Rand Ryan.

That's the funny thing about free-thinking individuals. We can handle criticism, even when we're biased. How well do people like Romney handle criticism?

24 hours? Caught on Camera & To Catch a Predator are liberal causes?

2012-10-27 05:37:32 PM
Only two types of news media in the US.

Corporate and FOX.

FOX is the propaganda arm of the GOP run by a true believer and financed by a cynic that spews a 24/7 narrative that favors the GOP and bashes Democrats.

If you haven't noticed and acknowledged this much by this late date then you are either one of the mouth-breathing, reality impaired mental midgets that make up the demographic that watches or you are a liar.

One or the other.

Here's what Conservatives are unable or unwilling to understand:

The problem with Fox News isn't that they lean right. The problem with Fox News is that they lie.
