The Oklahoma that is #1 in enrollment of national merit scholars? Is that the Oklahoma to which you refer?

SevenizGud: ongbok: If that person is covered, are you going to force the ball to him anyway?

Uhm, dipshiat, as has already been pointed out, you can throw the ball away rather than complete for a loss.

Can you not read?

Did he throw behind the line of scrimmage or behind the first down marker. Because you didn't specify that and by the way you were complaining I assumed he threw behind the first down line.

Also throwing to a check down behind the line of scrimmage isn't always a bad idea because there is a chance he can make something happen.

hence, the diehard fans. we are talking about people that follow OU so religiously that they won't even put a pumpkin up this time of year because the stores only sell orange ones.

I thought that was everybody in Norman?

That's just foolishness.

pretty much and i am sure that the rivalries between in state schools and in the conference are not unique. hell I know they aren't unique. and it trickles down to the high schools as well.

Just wait, he will claim that is because of grade inflation. I always find it funny how people attempt to put down a colleges academics.

How many played football?

Well, it really doesn't matter, noting that one of the most gifted athlete-scholars of the last decade went to Florida State, of all places. Cherry-picked stats are just that... and I can think of at least one good reason why one shouldn't use Merit Scholarships as a barometer for anything (nor raw numbers, considering how many of the best universities have relatively small student populations).

And by no means am I saying anything negative about about OU academics.

holy shiat stoops is pissed I love being able to read lips on camera.

nothing against any of the schools and their academics, but the intelligent students who are at the respective schools whether it be in Norman, Stillwater, or down in Austin, get overshadowed by the athletics especially when football season rolls around.

2012-10-27 09:35:23 PM
Probably a bad call.

But why does everyone get so outraged about a late call?

If the call's right, then it's right whether or not it's late. If it's wrong, same thing.

Shrug.

Yeah 14 first downs for OU versus 6 for ND. That's ineffective. Your mastery of football is amazing.

That happens at a lot of schools, even D3 schools without any national recognition.

So, from what I understand, it acceptable to remove rushing TD when it is concerning ND? First the Stanford TD in OT that was not allowed because of...something. And now the TD by Bell that was pulled because of holding by...somebody and let us not forget that that call was late and not even announced by the referee and not thrown by the umpire (I believe) who is usually charged with doing so. Next to this potential record, an asterisk would seem appropriate, methinks, every time they show that during a show.

If the game was won by how many first downs you get, then I would say you are right. OU's offense has been ineffective to this point because they haven't been able to get the ball in the endzone and their drives have been stalling out.

Yeah ND has been ineffective but their offense isn't that good. ND lives on their defense. However their offense is going to have to find away to score because their defense isn't good enough to hold OU to 6.

I enjoy that, out of all of the things I stated, you only had a comment about that. And I'll just state that I want a citation on the per capita aspect of the stat suggesting you're right, noting that OU is not necessarily a small university.

I'll be fine if that's wrong, for the fact that I have criticisms about the scholarship itself, ergo whether or not it's a per capita stat is meaningless because I criticize the mere mention of its use in supporting the school.

Incidentally, I enjoy Oklahoma commercials, too. I just know there are other ways to measure the quality of the university, and it is a quality university in many respects.
