433: I'd like to think that it's a lack of chemistry on the set without Olivia Munn. If you're unfamiliar with her, someone should come along and provide pictorial evidence. That, and she was fun.

Or, someone could post a picture of any talentless, average looking attention whore and you'd get roughly the same effect.

Endive Wombat: Honey Boo-Boo is a great example of something that has no place on television. Nothing is gained by it. Nothing. Ok...perhaps enjoying the exploitation and spectacle of poor, uneducated rednecks.

Wrong, wrong, WRONG. I no longer accept "I watch (toddlers and tiaras, honey boo boo, 16 and pregnant, etc) to feel better about myself. I know it's terrible."

Stop. Watching. This. Trash.

Isn't this what happens with every niche channel ever made? They start out catering to a small demographic, whether it's history, learning, geek, etc.. Then it takes off and the business types have to figure out how to make more money because shareholders need growth so they start researching and finding out what sells advertising spots, and then the channel turns into what we have now like TLC reality crap and History Channel's ancient aliens.

Sheeeit, I'm old. I remember the TechTV days, back when Cat Schwartz accidentally put topless photos of herself on her blog.

lasercannon: This show signed its own suicide note when they made Candace Bailey the cohost instead of Alison Haislip. Though I would hope that it will one day comeback revamped like Talk Soup did with The Soup

Yes, why do you hire pretty much a non-geek to host one of the geekiest shows on television? Haislip filled the "hot girl" quota and she knew what she was talking about and was head over heels in love with it. She was perfect.

Stupid move.

I've got to hand it to Pereira. That guy was an entertaining host. Quick on his feet for jokes, knowledgeable about the material, and decent in interviews. He had his best chemistry with Munn, but even with the other hosts he could keep it going.

You knew the network was done when he and Sessler left a few months back, not that there was much left at that point anyway. The strangest thing was Sessler was back after he quit for E3 coverage and Pereria was back after he quit for SDCC coverage. Awkward

Sarah Underwood.

That is all.

That's a stretch. She has that rode very hard and put away wet look to her.. She's also flirting with extra chromosomes.

What's a G4?

I don't know who made that comic, but I want him to suffer a good punch in the face.

Shadowtag: I don't know why this irritates me, since I haven't watched it in years. Maybe it's because SyFy and BBCAmerica are going the same route by filling their schedules with crap that has nothing to do with the idea behind their existence, and Cartoon Network's not looking too well either. Do any of these network execs understand the concept behind a specialized channel? Because the first thing they do when the budget lags is grab the cheapest, stupidest, least related thing possible and just fill the schedule with that until they've destroyed it entirely. It's as if they weren't charismatic enough for politics so they got the next job with least requirements involved that require basic comprehension of that job.

/Kind of amazed that Comedy Central still appears to understand what it's doing, but they still fill the schedule with the same thing over and over.

Considering the target demographics of at least SyFy and G4, you're trying to get a group of people that more and more rely on the internet for their entertainment that trying to maintain a cable TV channel gets less and less profitable. You'd think they would try to redirect their energies in to creating a more online presence to follow their demographic, but when you see other networks competing for the Cops/Cheaters demographic, I guess it seems easier and more cost effective to try to squeeze more and more blood from that stone.

This is where Comedy Central shows why it's more savvy than most other channels. Instead of fighting for viewership, it at least maintains some semblance of its original intent and hosts a good deal of content online. Then again, it has a larger pool of successful content to host, but SyFy and G4 might too if they would focus on creating content rather than leasing someone else's.

G4 is a turd. It's too forced for geeks and too nerdy for anyone else.

On the bright side, now that she'll have nothing to do, there's always that chance Sara Jean Underwood will make the leap to starring in bukkake videos.

Shame that G4 fell that hard. It used to be my go to channel for just having something on. Wish I could see the old shows.

FTFA: some are speculating that G4 may be partnering with Esquire magazine in order to make the change more palatable to upscale consumers. There will doubtlessly still be a nerd-friendly side to the network though.

Yea right. Cause when I think of geeks, I think of Esquire and GQ. More than likely it's going to be an E! like channel for dudes. Can't really say I'm surprised though, since the only way I would see any new content on that channel now I would have to piss off an authority figure at a campus or trailer park. Or a very insecure girlfriend who LOVES drama.

I actually did like their coverage of the cons, especially E3. SInce I would probably never get a chance to attend one, it was as close as I could get. G4 used to be a great background noise channel but after the Cops and Cheaters switch I had to start turning it off.

/ now it's SportsCenter and its endless prattling about a backup QB and a ho hum team in a big market.

Well in all fairness, to most of their audience, COPS, is the only home movies they have left after having sold all their belongings for Natty lite, and meth.
