I can't think of many things that would stop me from voting for Obama at this point, but an endorsement from Lena Dunham comes pretty f*cking close.

Knowing Reagan's age at the time, I'm pretty sure he was talking about pooping.

Why do you hate conservatives? Have they done something to you?

My name is Inigo Montoya. Conservatives killed my father.

whidbey: Who cares? It does affect minorities. And poor people. Overwhelmingly.

If you have no dog in the fight, kinda STFU about it. Or yeah, you're going to be lumped in with the sh*tstains.

You know what I love? The fact that you're the only airhead here who wants to claim that opposition to Obamacare is racist.

Just now had time to RTA.. obviously the problem with the ad was that she didn't compare it to rape. It would have been okay then. Consensual sex, not so much

GAT_00: I watched a couple of episodes and I couldn't decide if it was the worst thing I'd ever seen or the most realistic TV show I'd ever seen.

It is both.

And...now we know why the Gipper was called the Great Communicator, and Lena Dunham plays the self-absorbed lead on a cable comedy show watched by less than 1/3 of 1% of the American population. It's called innuendo, and when it's done right, it's genius. When it's not, it's juvenile and cringe-inducing.

tlchwi02: at first i thought lena dunham was not good at running a tv show because girls is thuroughly unlikable. then i realised it was supposed to be unlikable, and therefore she was doing a good job. I am still unclear, however, on how/why there is an audience for an extremely unlikable show.

I like it, which surprised me, and it's not just because I want to do unholy things to David Mamet's daughter.

Well, they've stolen from us, lied to us, killed our friends and damaged the underpinnings of modern society. For a start.

kronicfeld: GAT_00: Who the f*ck is Lena Dunham and why am I supposed to be outraged or not outraged?

She is an actress, director and writer, whose most prominent success is HBO's "Girls." She is usually described as being part of the indie "mumblecore" subgenre. Very clever, intelligent people whose tastes do not happen align with her work like to quite sophisticatedly describe her as fat, ugly and/or porcine.

Oh that thing. I watched a couple of episodes and I couldn't decide if it was the worst thing I'd ever seen or the most realistic TV show I'd ever seen.
