And the jackass who caused it all was none other than Jordan Jefferson, last year's angel of goodness. It's a shame but Mathieu was the only one of the group who could have had a pro career. It's over now.

I think subby clearly meant "Honey Brown", which is fine, though I usually prefer a hefeweizen or IPA.

You could also turn that around and say "all that's standing between you and millions of dollars is your ability to not smoke weed for two years. How is that so difficult?" The dude tossed away the potential to become a multimillionaire because he couldn't stop smoking weed. I have absolutely no sympathy for him.

So here are the things that this thread possesses and will possess:

-Annoying marijuana advocates talking about how awesome pot is and whining about drug laws because that's 90 percent of what's important to them.
-People happy to mock stupid athletes who can't help but continue to do dumb sh*t.
-People that will note the punishments and laugh at the fact that the charges increase in inverse relation to the former player's value to the LSU football team (though I suppose if they based it on the BCS title game last year, they would've probably pinned a couple of bodies to Jefferson).

Remember, because two things are both disgusting, we can't possibly be realistic and rational and admit "I'd rather get blown than f*cked in the ass, regardless of situation." It's critical in all situations to shut down any grey area or thought. Must just shout anyone down who doesn't say "GREATEST ATROCITY OF ALL TIME" and accuse them of sh*t like supporting Sandusky.

Straight from the closet homosexual Republican playbook who, rather than discuss issues regarding sexuality, simply shout "NO THAT'S EVIL AND TERRIBLE AND ANYONE WHO THINKS ABOUT IT SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED."

It didn't help Rashaan Salaam one farking bit. As fast as the game happens in the pros, and as much stuff as most guys have to keep track of on the field, being baked during the game would definitely put you at a disadvantage. There'd probably be no issue with a guy who smoked a j on his day off, so I don't see any point in the kind of piss-testing for weed that happens. That said, a few people do get completely out of control of themselves and are nearly as dysfunctional as heroin addicts. Looks like this Mathieu fellow may very well be one of those. A normal person in his position goes, "Oh, well. Can't smoke. It may be stupid, but it is what it is. Got to get paid!"

Yes, potheads, our marijuana laws are idiotic. That said, it is still illegal, and more importantly for the Honey Badger, his attempt at redemption takes a major hit (pardon the pun) as a result.

And it's not that hard NOT to smoke pot. Pretty much saying "no thanks" covers it.

Seriously, it went "nationally known starter" - lightest charge, "starter" - medium charge, "backup" - yeah, you're the distributor. We have to charge someone.

This is why I love Fark. From sports to Farker's sexual preferences in 0-30! Ferraris got nothing on us.

And to be fair, as annoying as I find IAmRight, from what I gather he attempted to give us the choice that you get in the game Would You Rather and naturally some had to take that as advocating NAMBLA-esque activities. All I can say is lighten up, Francis.

Sunrazor: And to be fair, as annoying as I find IAmRight, from what I gather he attempted to give us the choice that you get in the game Would You Rather and naturally some had to take that as advocating NAMBLA-esque activities.

Basically, people were talking about how everyone got f*cked in the ass at Penn State when most of the people coming forward to testify against Sandusky said that he gave them blowjobs and said nothing about getting f*cked. It's bad enough to say what actually happened, and people shouldn't be saying things happened that didn't, because it's inaccurate.

So then people whined that differentiating the two is tantamount to saying the first one is okay. But that's what you have to do when you're an angry, irrational mob.

Of course, these opinions were probably formed due to my "it's stupid to paint everyone who didn't tell as a horrific monster - I'm sure that no one actually knows for sure what they'd do in that type of situation. You'd think that you'd tell, but sexual crimes go unreported all the time. Is it more logical to think that it just so happened that everyone involved is a monster or that everyone has the capacity to protect their own interests first, and will use their own mental gymnastics to justify why they did what they did?"

It's just easier to call other people names to feel better about yourself. Of course it's easy to know what should have been done in hindsight. It's just that important for people to feel good about themselves that they're not willing to think of themselves in that light.

Well, smoking pot is preferable to distribution.

Much like receiving oral vs anal sodomy.

Right?

2012-10-26 10:55:40 AM

rufus-t-firefly: Well, smoking pot is preferable to distribution.

Smoking pot would be a more acceptable crime. But what would be ACCURATE is saying that he was involved with several people who were distributing it.

I'm sorry I would like people to be accurate in their depictions of events, rather than changing fundamental truths of the story to either vilify or exonerate the person that they are discussing based on how they feel about them. Clearly accuracy and truth are not valued by many people here.

mikaloyd: Look he also went into a full blown (sic) diatribe about how in other cultures and other times the whole Sandusky thing would be perfectly normal. Its more than just a game of would you rather here its a long term advocacy.

There are cultures wherein the rite of passage into manhood involves boys blowing the tribal elders. It's pretty well-known that the ancient Greeks did similar things. It's just interesting to note how tolerance of certain things changes from culture to culture and throughout history. In any case, we should periodically examine we feel the way we do about certain things. It's this reflection that helps us change as people - for example, again, homosexuality. Once, it was viewed as normal (again, those weirdo Greeks). Then it was an abomination. Then it was something that was...not accepted, but tolerated by most, though something to make fun of. Now it's mostly accepted in our country.

I'm not saying we SHOULD accept pedophilia, and rape in any case is never okay. BUT we shouldn't act as though it's only monsters that are deviant. That, by its nature, prevents self-examination and reflection, doesn't allow for scientific inquiry - it's the same type of broad-brush painting that the Catholic Church used for so many centuries to try to prevent an increase in knowledge. If we try to understand more about why people might do this, then we have a better chance of preventing it in the future - certainly much more so than just saying "well, clearly he's a horrific monster simply because I personally can't imagine doing such things."

No, someone saying we shouldn't accept a child too young to make a decision about something sexual (and I say child, leave the 14 year old grey area for another discussion) is not at all similar to a Church being against science.

How the fark did a thread that should be focused on mocking someone too stupid to set the bong down in favor of a promising career wind up with me reading the quoted post, exactly? You fail me fark.

Someone saying that we shouldn't isn't the same. But someone shouting down any idea that potentially threatens a widely-held belief and dismissing them as a deviant in their own right is EXACTLY the same.

Smackledorfer: How the fark did a thread that should be focused on mocking someone too stupid to set the bong down in favor of a promising career wind up with me reading the quoted post, exactly?

Because dumbf*cks called me out for pointing out that there were three (more accurately, there are four; I neglected to mention the typical base that uses any excuse to decry collegiate athletics) different bases of people that will be involved in this thread - the people that are upset at drug laws and will use this as a means to make their political statement; the people that enjoy schadenfreude, especially those of athletes; and a third base that might notice the issue of the fact that the charges changed in direct correlation with each former player's value to the LSU team when they played, and question that part of it.

I didn't take into account personal trolls that would drag in unrelated sh*t because it's easier than thinking.
