I was waiting for the claim "that on one day in 2011, he spent 30 minutes on the shiatter."

Do you want a candidate who takes 30 minutes to take a dump?

Well he apparently eats a lot of corn dogs, so draw your own conclusion.

If you have a seriouse hatred for corndogs and higher education, it's a real hit piece.

2012-10-25 05:54:21 PM
Varilek apparently worked at the Biosphere II, "known as an incubator of radical environmental ideas," the ad warns, (a Monitor article in 1987 called it "a sophisticated laboratory to study Earth ecology

That place is cool. I highly recommend checking it out.

When did education and international experience become black marks for legislators?

Well ..

I don't usually cover national US politics

Ah. That would explain it.

I agree. If anything, someone with his knowledge and talent is wasted in Middle-Of-Buttfark-Nowhere, SD, where the locals are suspicious of corndogs (of all things) and anyone who visits a location that they can't see from the roof of their barn.

2012-10-25 06:47:45 PM
I'm pretty sure that in order of communist tendencies it goes somewhere like Shot Luge > Corndogs > Frank Marshall Davis > Biosphere II

2012-10-25 06:48:44 PM
He sounds a lot like Mrs Tigger.

Grew up in South Dakota and then got the fark out and got an education.

(although Mrs Tigger retains her peculiar love of corndogs and other county fair type fare)

For added lulz it's worth noting that cap and trade was the republican market based solution to the emissions problem

Having grown up sheltered from corndog-related feats, I had to look what a triple-double is. According to the National Corndog Day website, it consists of consuming 10 regulation-length corndogs, 10 PBRs, and 10 orders of tater tots (100 total).

Good luck, Ms. Jaycee's Milo Farmer of the Year 2006. You're gonna need it.

He once shat an entire box of State Fair corn dogs, completely wrapped and packaged, and then took them back to the grocery store for a refund.

Sometimes, you gotta savor the experience.

Or, if it's a truly epic dump, you have to sit there composing the Aria that should be sung about it.

Frankly, I'll be impressed if anyone in SD actually sits through that entire nearly 3-minute-long video. What did they do? Run it as a full ad block during a rerun of 'Mission Impossible'?

Far be it for me to judge how other people decide to live their life but I always find it unfortunate when people seem to take pride in never leaving their state--doubly so when that state is South Dakota.

Obstinate refusal to to experience other cultures--even at the most superficial level--is not something to be proud of and certainly not something to look for in an elected official.

I'm working on one set to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".

Thankfully, I can keep the "The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down to the big lake they call Gitchigumi" part.

That was a great find, subby. "In 2008 he was at it again: corndogging."

Speaking of tater tots...this past Summer I went camping with a group. One of the people who came along is a chef at a fancy restaurant. For breakfast one morning he pulls out a bag of regular store-bought tater tots and fried them up in duck oil. Jesus Christ, it was one of the best things I ever tasted.

How is liking corndogs and beer considered a bad thing to a bunch of farmers? I'd ask how education, international experience, and public speaking in front of audiences such as the UN is a bad thing, but this is a GOP ad.

Depends. Does he wipe? Small town education be damned common sense farmers don't cotton to wiping. I bet he uses that soft fancy educated folk tissue or one of them fancy japanese terlets.

If you don't win in November, let me at least sponsor you for Total Fark for a year. In exchange I'd just like an invite to one of your parties.

When I moved to Denver they would run these round the clock ads attacking *ominous voice* BOULDER LIBERAL MARK UDALLLLLLLL...I don't even know who he was running against but the GOP was pouring a lot of money in to support him. The clincher was when some group ran a commercial (also with an ominous voice) saying "Mark Udall *claims* to support freedom...yet HE OPPOSED THE PATRIOT ACT" while masked Arabs burned an American flag in the background. I was never more excited for an election as I was that year, as I cast my vote for Mark Udall, whoever that was. I'd like to think those attack ads were the reason Udall won.
