It could just mean Al Franken is coming to the east coast.

Unlike last years Halloween surprise that left us without power for 11 days, at least we're getting a little warning this time. Hopefully the last one wiped out enough trees near my power lines, and the wind will knock the rest of the leaves off that were collecting so much snow last time.

Just ran the Generator for 10 minutes to make sure she'll fire the first time. Glad I did, it took a bit of effort to get it going again. Kerosene and Gasoline run tomorrow.

I was telling my workmate about this this morning and she looked at me like i had three heads. I see the snow has tapered off in the midwest, but damn...this could be fun.

We're about 50 miles west of Philly, and I think we'll only get the outer bands of the storm. I really hope this doesn't fark up Halloween. This is the first year my 4 year old twins are really into the year's greatest holiday.

Yes! I've been dying to make chili lately (I refuse to cook chili when its hot outside) but its been in the high 70's here in VA all week. I finally relented and decided to cook chili on Sunday, so maybe it will actually be cold enough by then.

Had to fly to London with one day notice for work (Detroit -> New York -> London). Due to come home through New York... Monday. Wonder what the odds are that I'll get a free day to play in London?

I'm in South Jersey 10 minutes from the Walt Whitman bridge.

Yeah, they are CUMMING HARD over this.. I've already heard storm of the century, BILLIONS AND BILLIONS worth of damage.... The sensationalism is on full herpa derp mode for a storm that is still south of Florida and will barely be a cat 1 by the time it gets here.

If anyone needs a generator, I've got two for $5k each. Will also supply gas for $12 a gallon.

At least it's not "VampireStorm" or "ZombieStorm". Those are kinda played out.

Side tangent: Two of my co-workers are talking about this right now.

Being Texas, they're hoping the storm will be so bad that it will "keep the liberals from voting."

2012-10-25 03:58:18 PM
We scheduled moving on that day.

2012-10-25 03:58:48 PM

JeffreyScott: Maybe they are over-predicting the storm's potential to ensure they will not be arrested, tried, and given a lengthy prison sentence, for under predicting.

Well that's farking absurd.
There's a reason we think you're nuts, Italy.

I'm in the South of Florida and we've been getting some pretty good wind for the past few days and the storm is no where near us. I feel bad for the easterner's who aren't used to a REAL storm and might likely blow it off (no pun) and be unprepared.

How long before someone claims Obama will use this as pretext to postpone/cancel the election?

I live on the south shore of Long Island (a block from the water), I commute to work in Manhattan, and my girlfriend's place is inland in NJ but right next to a river. So I could be super farked if this storm is bad.

People keep saying this may be like the 1991 storm. I was 5 years old in 1991 so I don't remember it.

Yeah.. Good luck with that.

Lets run the current GDF and see where that gets you..

If people are snowed in or without power for a long time how could this effect the election?

I was also 5 when that storm hit. I remember looking out our living room window 3ft off the ground and the snow was right up to the screen. We couldn't get out the door, so we all climbed out the window. It was cool!

Well, I went over to Freeperland and found this from 5 hours ago:

Will Obama cancel the election due to power outages?

Within 30 minutes someone replied:

I see all these conspiracy theories on FR about Obama canceling the elections, Kevin Dejaun at HillBuzz has to deal with this Black Helicopter stuff all the time, any FR nutjobs want to point out an executive order, law, statute or precedent for a President canceling elections? There is none, so lets quit with all the conspiracy nonsense, you give credense to our political enemies as us being paranoid hick morons.

Come on, I want someone claiming inside knowledge of a plot. We all KNOW it will show up at some point.
